The Continiuing Agricultural Education Center is delighted to host a four(4) days workshop on vegetable production by the Integrated Seed Sector Development.
ISSD plus is a four-year seed project in Uganda implemented by Wageningen UR/CDI funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The program aims at strengthening the development such as seed quality assurance and availability of foundation seeds.
The project has four components :
1. Addressing bottlenecks in early seed generation.
2. Enhancing the quality declared seed system and local seed businesses.
3. Promoting of uptake of quality seeds.
4. Promotion of advanced vegetable variety/seed use.
The ISSD ambitions will be achieved by:
1. Promoting the use of advanced(high yielding, resilient and with market preference)vegetable varieties among the vegetable producers. The adoption of such varieties will contribute to increased productivity and reduced cost of production hence increased earnings.
2. Contributing to the improvement of the environment to enable vegetable production.
