Last week on Thursday, our ED was in attendance during the Strategic planning meeting at National Association of Women's Organizations in Uganda (NAWOU). This is part of the strategic efforts by NAWOU to promote the growth of a women's movement through a string network that advocates for the rights of women in Uganda. As YWCA UGANDA YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION we are proud to be part of this network as we continue to empower women and girls in Uganda.

This week, YWCA's Week Without Violence Campaign shines a spotlight on one of the most pervasive yet often overlooked forms of domestic violence: "Financial abuse". Shockingly, 99% of domestic violence cases involve financial control, making it a powerful tool used by abusers to entrap women and perpetuate cycles of violence.

Financial abuse can strip women of their independence, leaving them trapped in abusive situations. It is time to break the silence and be the voice for change.

Be part of YWCA's movement to end violence against women, young women, and girls globally. Together, we can raise awareness, offer support, and create a future free from violence in all its forms.
