I love that you know so much and in your own world it makes beautiful sense because you are unapologetically you.

I love the moments when I wonder where you are in the house and find you reading in a quiet corner.

I love that you are our dinner table entertainment and I’m sure we will look back fondly on those moments.

I love that you are an amazing big brother.

I love that you have so many friends and seem like a mayor at school pick-up time.

I love how you read the word of God with curiosity and have the facts on your finger tips. Everything is a thesis to you.🥰🤣

When I laugh or smile so hard my eyes disappear 😂😂 and many times that’s a marker that I’m super happy. As I cross over into my new year I intend to look out for more of these moments or better still create them, like this one right here!

As I grow older though, I realize that leaning into joy is much better. It means that we embrace a different way… Rev. John Piper defines joy as being that “good feeling in the soul, produced by the Holy Spirit, as He causes us to see the beauty of Christ in the Word and in the world.” I’m definitely doing this from here on out!

May we never forget how far God has brought us and the happy moments of invisible eyes when the joy has overflowed into such expression. Let’s also remember that even when times have been tough joy is a constant because it is not dependent on our circumstances and surroundings, it is dependent on a very constant one; Christ.

Joy comes in the morning(Psalm 30:5) and the joy of the Lord is our strength(Nehemiah 8:10). Amen 🙏🏽

About 2 months ago I graduated with a Masters in Contextualized Pastoral Ministry. It’s a mouthful, right? I’m truly grateful to God that all the years I tried to get back into school and failed were not in vain. This is because He had a different plan for me. I’m also grateful to God for my PhD which is now closer. 🥰💪🏽🥹

I’d typically rush to post but I’m finding more recently that I have to mull things over.

As a typical church girl for most of the past 20 years, I seriously question my journey and if I’m representing our father well enough(all the time). My unworthiness slaps me in the face daily. I remember those who laughed when I shared excitedly that I was finally going back to school, they couldn’t believe it was Seminary/Bible College. Some asked if I was going to be a pastor… my answer was and will continue to be; I’m a market place minister. I’m terrified to walk these streets as one because I feel nothing about me could ever represent Him enough, but I will do it afraid, do it scared and do it anyway( ).

We are not worthy or qualified but our Father God has called us out of the darkness into His marvelous light through Jesus Christ His son and we have a helper in receiving and living out all this… the Holy Spirit!
