The holiday is here!!! We had three months of study this term. Monday 30th November 2021 was our last day of school. We congratulate all our learners who made it to the close of this term. We now have about five weeks of rest. It is time to drop the books briefly and pick up the holiday pack. While academics are important, rest is also important for your body and mind. Pick up those favorite activities you have not had time for in a long while. Indulge yourself a little as you freshen up for term two. Christmas is here.

The mental, physical, and emotional involvement of children in their academic and social learning processes is a fundamental part of what informs our education approach. Welcome to November, the prostate cancer awareness month. We are dedicating this month to raising awareness about the issues surrounding men’s overall health, both physical and mental. This year, we would like to urge men to drop the reluctance to talk about the things that impact their wellbeing. Speak up or we shall tell your mother, hehe.

Silence can turn solvable situations into insurmountable obstacles. Free and friendly communication with our doctors, families, partners, and friends is key to securing our well-being. This month, let’s start screening for prostate cancer and taking the steps to improve our physical health, for ourselves and those closest to us!

Physical activity is important for a healthy body. Learners at Orel vine school enjoy organized physical activity through various sports engagements including, but not limited to, soccer, basketball, swimming, and track & field days. Many of the learners have won medals at our annual sports days.

Experiential learning is what we do at Orel Vine School. For most units, students take part in a study trip, providing them with further opportunity to relate what they learn in class to the real world. These are some of the highlights from our most recent trips;

1. A Q & A session during a visit to the Uganda Heart Institute.
2. A study visit to the Foundation for Human Rights Initiative at Human Rights House in Nsambya.
3. A study visit to Kabulasoke solar power station.
4. An experience visit to the Uganda National Water and Sewerage Corporation-Katosi Water Treatment facility

Yesterday Monday 5th October was world teachers’ day. The celebrations this year have been held under the theme: Teachers- Leading in crisis, reimagining the future.

At Orel Vine School we join the rest of the world in appreciating the work done by all teachers in the school setting. In a special way, we also appreciate all teachers in the home setting.

The prevailing online and study-at-home situation has turned almost all parents especially the mothers into home-school teachers. Our congratulations go out to all parents who have successfully done this for their children. We have a few tips to help them ease their job.

1. Plan your day’s academic targets with children.
2. Help children complete day’s academic tasks in time.
3. Review targets at the end of the day.
4. Do not postpone more than one activity.
5. Keep in touch with the teachers at school.

Here at Orel Vine School we wish you a successful month of October. Take it or leave it, we all crave achievement at our different levels. But what if we thought a little more about Genesis 1:28, reading it with an entrepreneurial mind.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” I like the words of God. “Be fruitful and multiply. 2. Multiply –Purpose and determine to produce your product in large quantities.

3. Fill the earth- Create a distribution chain in form of franchises and company stores all over a wide place.

4. Govern it. Manage your business correctly and your brand will rule the marketplace.
