It's.... a contraction/ short form of it is and it has.
Examples:
It's a long route. (It is)
It's gone. ( it has)

Its...A possessive pronoun that rrepresents ownership/belonging to.
Examples:
The goat broke its rope.
Its hoof is hurt.
The rope belongs to the goat and the hoof belongs to the cow.

How to use article "a"
Tip: It is used to modify nouns that begin with consonants.
Consonants: b c d f g h j k l m n p q r s t v w x y z
Examples: box, cat , dog, fork
a box, a cat, a dog , a fork, etc

Always remember that all nouns that begin with vowel sounds ( a e i o u) take up article "an" in their singular forms whereas all nouns that begin with consonant sounds( b d d f g h j k l m n p q r s t v w x y z) take up article "a" in their singular forms. Singular means 1 person or thing.
