The verbal shaming of menstruating people as “dirty” or “unclean”, period stigma results in a lower quality of life for those who are faced with it. Free conversations that facilitate proper education and teach us to unlearn shame are important.

Period stigma creates a sense of shame, embarrassment or hesitation to talk about periods. Too often, when we do dare to have conversations about menstruation, they should validate the experiences of menstruators & add value, providing knowledge about their own bodies.
