COVID deaths leave thousands of Ugandan kids grieving but many schools remain under lockdown!
Thank your supporting our needy children and orphans during this lock down
Pray for Uganda Children🙏🏾
Covid-19 Pandemic Fueling Child Labor: Many children feel they have no choice but to work to help their families survive, but a rise in child labor is not an inevitable consequence of the pandemic.
The head teacher verbzed his frustration “inter district travel ban has hindered our teachers seriously. They can't move to their homes (districts) for any food support and it's just few days off the lockdown so we don't what will happen to us. The situation is tougher than that of the first lockdown bse we used to beg for food from our relatives of other districts unlike now.”
We are praying for a grant to help teachers and hospice staff go through the 42 lockdown days
This month we seek your Prayers for our orphans that are waiting patiently for school fees support 2021
Like the dream🧐
Covid 19 does not have time to discriminate anyone; so should we !🤫
School back in session. Though short of food supplies but have masks on. Keep them in your prayers
“KAMPALA-The Ministry of Education has said it will inspect schools and issue certificates of compliance to those which meet the set standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the prevention of coronavirus before they are allowed to reopen next month.
Mr Cleophas Mugenyi, the director of basic education, yesterday said following the planned reopening of schools on October 15, the Directorate of Education Standards (DES) will inspect all education institutions and those which fall short of the standards will remain closed.”
Praying for the schools to open
“The ministry of Education and Sports of Uganda has issued 27 new Standard Operating Procedures ( SOPs) required for the reopening of schools and institutions of higher learning in Uganda which were closed in March due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
Launching the SOPs on Tuesday at Kabale district Rukiiko in Kabale municipality, the Assistant commissioner in Charge of private schools and institutions at the ministry George Mutekanga said that government is preparing on how they will reopen schools while following all the set guidelines by the ministry of health in order to avoid spread of Covid-19.
The new SOPs for schools, include;
Every school forming a Covid-19 task-force,
Daily and timely screening of temperatures of learners,
Compulsory wearing of face masks by both learners and teachers,
Creation of isolation rooms at every school,
Access to water by learners every time,
Daily disinfection of classroom floors, walls, furniture, toilets using soap and water,
Restricted access to schools and screening done at school gates
Creation of adequate spaces at schools to accommodate recommended distance,
Single beds or one student on a double decker, and keeping 2 meters between beds,
Lesson plans should include messages of Covid-19 at and the end of every lessons, among other procedures.
We hope to open soon
The pandemic brought isolation, and when people have to stay home, domestic violence, drug use, and sexual abuse all increase. “There’s a huge surge in kids that need care. Here at our academy, we try minimize that trend by keeping some of our orphans active like learning new life skills. Thank you, we appreciate your support 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great memories while visiting Uganda
Some of our orphans don’t sit and wait for a handout but engage in self actualization and engage in raising their next term school fees and tuition by making bricks.
Huuuu!
Thanks for your contribution to help our staff have some support for foods during the Covid 19 lockdown
