*Full step / Tone / Whole step*

Distance or interval made by moving two half steps.

Practically

Piano: that means skipping a key ( "button") in between.....for example in that image above from the white key,skipped the white to the black......so I would I have moved a whole step/tone/full step........

So in other words if one instructed you to move a whole step up or even down from the note you have played simply means skip the immediate note and hit the following one

*Guitar*: involves skipping a fret in between

Anything off that is noise

Today we'll talk about a few basic terms in music

*Note vs chord*

*NOTE*
Note: Is a sound played ......

Once I hit one key ("button") of a keyboard/piano ,what you hear is what we refer to as a note

Be it black or white key.......

For the stringed instruments family(guitars,violin,cello,viola,etc) it's that heard when one plucks one string

*CHORD*
Is a group of notes played together or simultaneously

Or perhaps a group of sounds played together/simultaneously

Once one hits three or more notes together they form a chord

For a keyboard/piano: pressing down three or more keys( "buttons") we end up with a chord....

Stringed instruments: plucking more than one string together or simultaneously we have a chord.......

In summary

A note is a sound played
Notes are a building block for a chord

That is a chord is a group of notes played together
