Augustine Situmi Catholic Primary School is a Government Aided Mixed Day Co-education school which was started in 1942 by Rev. Father John Castricum as sub grade school at Tooma. He laid the Foundation Stone at Situmi in 1955. However, it was completed by Rev. William Fredricks and eventually became government aided. The first teachers were Francis Wolyomo, and Celestine Kitutu, the pioneer studen
ts Fabiano Waburoko, Wakube, Damascus Wakwabubi, John Wokuti, Clement Yaaka among others. Situmi PS is located at Situmi village, Bukhaweka Parish, Bukhaweka Sub County, Manafwa District in Eastern Uganda 7km. from Manafwa District along Bubulo-Kufu-Bukhaweka road and 1km. from Bukhaweka Trading Centre . Since the 19th and 20th centaury, the school has been administered by several head teachers and produced men and women / personalities of various professions, fields at different ranks, cadres who need to be reminded or remembered that “East or West Home is the Best” to inspire, support, also give career guidance to the current future general at Situmi PS especially the needy, those with special needs, and those without hope and direction.
