Participation of TNMU Associate Professor in the European Congress of Cardiologists of Cardiac Failure
On May 21-24, 2022, Associate Professor of the Department of Emergency and Emergency Medical Care, Sofia Lipovetska, took part in the European Congress of Cardiologists of Heart Failure in Madrid.
This Congressional program has become a big new niche that continues to fill in so-called gaps in evidence for heart failure treatment. Despite new recommendations for treating heart failure patients in 2021 https://www.escardio.org/.../Acute-and-Chronic-Heart-Failure and COVID-19 restrictions that have halted many studies, this congress was a bright and groundbreaking event.
Presentation of interventions for the treatment of heart failure included advanced forms of cardioresynchronizing therapy, heart rate modulation, timely telemonitoring to prevent decompensation, and early laboratory biomarker and - OMICs RNA for accurate risk stratification.
There have been many innovations in the medical field: the expansion of screenings for long-known means and the emergence of brand new ones with high-evidence levels. Yes, interim results of DEFINE-HF and PRESERVED-HF trawls have been shown that use of SGLT2 inhibitors has its benefits in symptomatic patients regardless of the emission fraction level. Instead of macitentate, an endothelin receptor antagonist used in pulmonary hypertension, received a negative assessment in the SERENADE trial. He did more harm than good to patients with a saved ejection fraction and pulmonary vascular disease.
To reduce the level of decompensation of heart failure and, accordingly, hospitalizations requiring intravenous infusions of diuretic, ESC has officially made it possible to use special furosemide patch-pumps for the subcutaneous the introduction. Being biodegradable, effectiveness, and home use, these devices provide significant advantages over the in/over drugs confirmed in the SUBCUT-HF trial.
According to REDWOOD-HCM Open Label results, the study confirmed the effectiveness of a new cytokinetic - Aficamten in patients with obstructive hypertrophy cardiomyopathy. And for patients with lower ejection fraction and hypotension, Omecamtiv mecarbil is offered, which improves the probability of myocardial performance without reducing AT. According to GALACTIC-HF trawler, it reliably reduced cardiovascular mortality. Unfortunately, due to hypotension and renal dysfunction, the arsenal of our pharmaceuticals is significantly limited, so the use of tropical therapy, namely selective heart myosin activator, has its prospects.
During Congress Sofia Lipovecʹka successfully presented the posternu report.
The European Cardiological Society is one of the first leading scientific communities in the world to express support and solidarity with Ukraine, condemning Russian aggression. During a full-scale war, Russian and Belarusian scientists are forbidden to participate in all scientific events and publications in ESC editions.
During the congress in the virtual case area, the BodyInteract team, who are old partners of TNMU, were presented interesting clinical cases that could be modeled on their own. BodyInteract, a leader in simulation training in the world, has also shown its respect and support for Ukraine during this challenging time (Photo 3 - Silvério de Sousa Mendes, Body Interact CEO).
