It is certainly worth a trip to The Netherlands, home to one of the most famous flower gardens in the world, the Köckenhof. It belongs to the local royal dynasty and also has a second name, the Garden of Europe, to reflect its location in the heart of the Old World, between The Hague and Amsterdam.
The park was once the site of a count's manor, where herbs for the court kitchen were grown - hence the origin of the park's name. The park itself was laid out in 1857, following English gardening principles.
The area of the park is huge - about 32 hectares. Nowhere else in the world will you see as many flowers as in this park. More than anywhere else, the climate is conducive to the cultivation of flowers - plenty of rainfall and slight temperature contrasts are ideal for plant growth. An annual flower show is held here. The most common flowers in the park are tulips in more than 5 million varieties. There are three huge greenhouses, one with tulips, lilacs and daffodils, one with orchids and one with roses.
In addition to flowers, there are a variety of picturesque ponds, sprawling trees, fountains and canals. There's also a petting farm that gives the whole area a countryside feel. There are cafés, restaurants and a children's entertainment world for children.

For over two hundred years the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam has been one of the most visited and interesting museums in the world. Hundreds and thousands of tourists come every day to see the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, and every morning the residents of Amsterdam see the enormous queue of visitors wishing to see the famous Dutch landmark with their own eyes.
The collection, the basis of the Rijksmuseum, was originally housed in The Hague until 1800, when Napoleon's brother Louis Bonaparte took it to Amsterdam and housed it in a palace. In one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in the Netherlands lies the beautiful Dutch chateau de Haar. On the outside the castle looks like a medieval historical monument, but in reality it is a state of the art mansion.
More than once, De Haar has literally risen from the ashes. In 1391, the stone castle served as the fiefdom of the De Haar family. In 1482, the castle was burnt down and all that was left were ruins and a few minor defensive structures. The castle was rebuilt in the early 16th century and was inherited by a descendant of the de Haar family in 1890. His wealthy wife put a lot of effort and money into restoring the ancestral home. It took the architect Kuipers about 20 years to restore the castle: electricity, steam heating and lifts were installed. However, all technical innovations were skilfully hidden from view so as not to disturb the external splendour of the medieval interiors. When restoring the premises of the castle, the boundary between the old and new walls was smoothed out with the help of multicoloured bricks. The interior is full of carvings in the Roman Catholic style and there is even an original design of tableware.
The picturesque gardens of De Harrah's, often compared to Versailles, extend around the castle. There are almost 7,000 trees which have been brought in from all over the country. Numerous romantic pergolas dot the park, and the surrounding countryside has been reconstructed in a pseudo-medieval style to complete the picture.

There is so much to see in the Dutch province of Gelderland - De Hooge Veluwe National Park has so much to offer that visitors often do not have all day to see and explore it all. The founders of the famous Dutch game park, the Kroller family of businessmen, used the land for hunting, but eventually financial difficulties forced them to sell it to the state. Today the site is home to around one thousand square metres of hiking trails, equestrian and cycle paths, a sculpture garden, a number of restaurants and three unique museums. Among them is the unique museum of underground life. Descending deeper and deeper into the ground along its stairs one can find the root system of an old tree, which is up to 150 years old, as well as rare rocks and even the bones of animals that have been extinct for over a thousand years.
Another museum located in the northern part of the park is the hunting lodge of Hubertus, who, according to legend, after seeing a glowing cross on the forehead of a deer, gave up his habit of killing animals and retired to a monastery.
The park has varied landscapes, alternating between wet and dry deserts, flood meadows and sandbanks. The park's flat terrain is perfect for cycling, especially as the park provides special, branded white bikes, which are easily adjustable in height and guarantee a comfortable ride. You can also go horseback riding in the park or even take a ride in a real horse-drawn carriage.

Visitors with children have a lot to see in the Netherlands and in the Dutch capital. In Amsterdam, about 15 minutes walk from the Central Station is an interesting object resembling a huge green ship with two bridges leading to it. This is Nemo Museum, a fascinating Dutch attraction that takes you on an educational journey into the worlds of science, technology, IT and biomedicine, and helps you learn about simple, everyday things.
Upon entering the museum lobby, you'll immediately see a café and a souvenir shop selling many scale models of some of the museum's attractions. The museum consists of 5 floors, each representing a different theme.
The main theme on the ground floor is DNA and molecular chain reactions, which are on display with large, intricate structures, including huge dominoes, a flying car and a huge bell.
The first floor is a factory of plastic balls, which participants sort by colour, weight and size.
The third floor features a large science lab where visitors can conduct and observe some experiments with their own hands.
On the fourth floor, visitors can attend a lecture on the human brain, have their memory tested and assess their brain function.
Finally, on the fifth floor is a café, children's playground, games room and observation deck overlooking the city skyline.

A trip to the Netherlands generally begins in the capital Amsterdam. The main attraction in the Netherlands capital is Amsterdam's numerous water canals - there are more than a hundred of them in total. The multitude of man-made canals along with hundreds of intricate bridges and catwalks create a unique picture of the city that makes it recognizable among thousands of other cities. You can wander its endless embankments for hours, marveling at the city's intricate architecture.
Amsterdam's canal system is a complex of waterways formed by one big river, the Amstel. The creation of the system began in 1658 with the "Three Canals Plan", drawn up by architect Hendrik van Keisker. Today the canals number 165 and carry over 1,500 bridges. Seen from above, the canals form four semicircles that encircle the city.
Because of the sheer size of the waterways, waterborne transport is preferable to overland travel, while bicycles are handy for overcoming the city's numerous bridges. Therefore, if you are looking for something to see in the Netherlands, once in Amsterdam, take one of the tours along the city's many canals.
