ENGLISH IDIOMS
“NO SPRING CHICKEN” is an idiom which has nothing to do either with SPRING or CHICKEN.
It’s used to refer to someone who is:
✅ no longer young
✅ past adulthood
✅ no longer active because they’re getting old.
e.g. My grandfather is no spring chicken, that’s for sure.
e.g. He was always a wild and crazy guy when he was younger, but now he’s no spring chicken.

🤩EXCITING GRAMMAR 🤩
Real life examples
If you are an ESL/EFL teacher, you may ask: How can teaching grammar be exciting? 👀
It can be if you use the right approach and strategy ☺️.
See the examples from real life which you can use as a transition exercise. They’re funny and it’s always a winner to break the ice or if your students can’t focus and you need to draw their attention.
🥸Simply show these pictures and ask them to find any mistakes they can spot: spelling, wrong word order, or even semantics ☺️.

What is an icebreaker?
An icebreaker is an activity that is used to introduce people to each other so that they feel more relaxed together.
It’s a great tool to fill the initial five to ten minutes of class time while you wait for everybody to arrive.
If you decide to implement icebreakers in your class, make sure you do the following:
✅ TIMING: allocate no more than 10% of classroom time
✅ SET EXPECTATIONS: let your students know how long this activity will last and what exactly is expected of them
✅ INCLUSION: encourage everyone to participate by avoiding questions about politics, religion, family, finances, etc.
TWO TRUTHS and ONE LIE
This popular icebreaker activity is ideal for your first class, providing participants with an opportunity to get to know each other.
The game involves learners sharing three statements – two true and one false – about themselves in English, and others guessing which statement is the false one.
Dear teachers, please, share one activity which you usually use as an icebreaker for your class.
Waiting for your ideas in comments 🤗.
