Hello everyone,
It is with regret that we are announcing the notice of termination of our membership and affiliation with AEGEE / European Students' Forum. This decision has been made after careful consideration and deliberation by our members and in accordance with the General Rules of AEGEE-Europe.
Over the years, we have greatly valued our partnership with AEGEE-Europe and the opportunities it has offered to our members. The cultural exchanges, personal development, and the establishment of connections with other Europeans have been invaluable to us and we appreciate the support, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing that we have experienced within the AEGEE-Europe network.
However, due to recent events on Agora, shifts in AEGEE-Europe’s strategic direction, and internal considerations we have come to the difficult decision that it is in the best interest of our locals to terminate our membership with AEGEE-Europe, effective immediately as it is no longer feasible for us to remain within an organization that creates an opportunity of indirectly funding a war in Europe by allowing its official international events and activities to be held in Russia and Belarus.
We would like to express our immense gratitude to our current and last Network Commission of AEGEE-Europe Karolina Wiera for the vast support she provided to us throughout the most difficult year in our history, Wild East area, special thanks go to Barbora Műllerova from AEGEE-Praha and especially Leon and Nathan Kogel from AEGEE-Aachen for representing us during the last couple of Agorae in the best way possible.
We extend our gratitude to AEGEE-Europe for the multiple fundraisers over the last year and other ways of expressing support for Ukraine in general and Ukrainian locals in particular. Your support holds a significant importance to us and although we wil no longer be available at your disposal, we strongly urge you to continue .
Last, but not least, we want to express our sincere thanks to AEGEEEans for the positive experiences and memories we have shared throughout our membership lifetime.
We are proud to have been part of the AEGEE network, and we wish you continued success in your future endeavours to promote intercultural understanding, active citizenship, and youth empowerment.
Thank you for your understanding, time and see you somewhere in Europe.

☮️ These days AEGEE family finally has an opportunity to meet each other live in Agora Novi Sad(AGORA Novi Sad 2022) . Unfortunately, you can`t see any Ukrainians there - we are forced to hide in the bomb shelters instead.
📜 Yesterday, during the morning plenary we addressed a statement to all AEGEEans with a question: what can we do (more), as part of NGO that empowers young people to take an active role in society in order to help us in these dire times of need?
📝 We'd like to share some key points from the statement here:
🤝 "We would like to thank every individual, every local, European body, and the Comité Directeur (AEGEE / European Students' Forum) for all the support you’ve shown so far. We feel the strong AEGEE Spirit within you and know that you’ll always be welcomed here in our cities..."
🤔 "Today we must ask ourselves what can we do, as part of NGO that empowers young people to take an active role in society in order to help? The war is still ongoing and it’s very important for everyone to continue doing as much as we can to keep it on the agenda..."
✌️ "You can also approach Ukrainians and ask them about the ways of providing humanitarian aid faster and custom-tailored..."
⛔️ "We call upon AEGEEans to suspend any international activity hosted in Russia and Belarus for a wartime period.
We’re asking the Russian and Belarussian AEGEEans to not apply for hosting international AEGEE events that involve the participation of foreign AEGEEans, the residing and future Comite Directeur’s to not approve these events, and the regular AEGEEans to not participate in them, until the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, including the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea..."
💰 The reasoning behind this is simple - by suspending the hosting status, you won’t sponsor a war by paying the Russian and Belarussian governments through taxes and buying products and services there. You won’t pay for accommodation, the food, and the leisure options, as the money would go not only to their locals’ budget but also would end up fueling the war through taxes.
Surely, you’re not the gun that fires, but you also won’t be the one’s putting the bullets into the gun..."
🗣 For that reason, we encourage the Agora to discuss this proposal and give a resolution. We understand it might be a hard topic to discuss and an even harder decision to make, but we believe that it’s also a morally right one, as we can not imagine AEGEEans would fund a war, not anymore at least..."
🙏🏻 We hope that AEGEEans understand our position and welcome it with cold minds and open hearts. It's not about bullying/pressing someone, it's about taking every opportunity to bring peace back to our common home, which we like to call Europe.

🇺🇦 Please, help us survive this nightmare, stay alive and be able to smile again 🙏 Support Ukraine – supportukrainenow.org 🇺🇦
It can not be fully understood by watching news on TV or Youtube. It can be only understood when you experience it in real life, which we would never wish anyone to experience. It's constant pain you feel for every innocent human being brutally killed by russian missiles or occupants. It's constant anger for every corner of your country being destroyed.
Our foreign friends, you are the ones who can act and help us survive. Maybe you can share this post or other post about Ukraine, maybe you can join demonstrations, maybe you can talk to people and tell them about my story or other stories, maybe you can help Ukrainians who lost their jobs or homes, maybe you have your laptop or phone and you can help IT Army of Ukraine, maybe you could send fabric to Ukraine for military camouflage netting, maybe you come up with some other ideas to help, and maybe by doing this you will help one or two persons or will save somebody’s life. And if you doubt what or how to do it, contact us, we will be happy to help.
Endless thank you for not being indifferent 🙏

As AEGEE-Europe, we . This morning we all woke up to the horrific news of Ukraine being invaded by the Russian government. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people in Ukraine, their families and loved ones.
AEGEE-Europe will always promote peaceful and constructive international cooperation, respecting the rule of law, as well as human rights and fundamental democratic values. The recent events affect all of us, directly or indirectly. Aggression and violence should never be an option and we condemn the actions that have and will lead to unnecessary bloodshed, disrespecting values of human lives. We have heard the voices of the Russian youth, who have shared that they do not wish this violent escalation and extend our deepest condolences for the actions taken on their behalf. We should not judge the Russian citizens by their government and urge you to also be respectful and considerate of the situation in which they find themselves.
Having said that, we want to direct our efforts on helping our members and the citizens of Ukraine. AEGEE is not just a network, it is a united community and as such we offer our widest possible support to those affected by the crisis. It is understandable if you are afraid, or feel hopeless and confused. Let us take these emotions and translate them into actions to support our Ukrainian friends out there. You yourself can show your support by:
📍 Write to your Ukrainian friends or acquaintances and simply ask them how they are doing and if they need help.
📍 If you live near Ukraine you might need to ask your family if they can host some of your Ukrainian friends. That might save their life.
📍 Share information! When sharing information make sure it is fact checked. Spreading fake news can be life-threatening.
📍 Donating to causes that support humanitarian actions and services within Ukraine, just like those you can find here - https://linktr.ee/aegee_europe.
📍 If it is safe and possible, search for a demonstration or organise one in front of the Russian embassy or consulate in your country (there are already a lot of organised actions in most big European cities).
But most importantly, no matter what you do, stay safe.
If you are a young person in need of help or you find yourself struggling, or wanting to share your story with us, please reach out to [email protected].
