Death Valley National Park
Death Valley has been notorious since the early 19th century. Due to the difficult landscape, extreme temperatures, and many poisonous snakes, many settlers who risked crossing these perilous places died here. Despite this, the lifeless desert with bizarre sand dunes and harsh rocks fascinates from the first steps. The Badwater salt marshes and the glowing stretches of Furnace Creek are particularly beautiful.
Death Valley has a network of hiking trails of varying difficulty. All kinds of hiking and biking are available, and an overnight stay in one of the camping areas will allow you to admire the mesmerizing starry sky without interference.
Mountain climbers often train in the mountainous part of the valley — a challenging climb will reward you with a fantastic panorama of the area. You should be careful when traveling. An attempt to turn off the road may end up in an encounter with a rattlesnake. If you still decide to see Death Valley despite the killer heat and dangers, it is most convenient to do it during a trip to Las Vegas, which is located very close by.

Hearst Castle
The amazing estate of billionaire William Randolph Hearst was designed in 1919 in California’s Central Coast. Hardly anywhere else in the United States will you find such a quirky yet organic blend of Italian Renaissance, Gothic Revival, and the best traditions of Spanish and Moorish architecture. Hearst Castle sits atop Enchanted Hill (La Cuesta Encantada), about halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Apparently, the romance of the name prompted the owner to turn the estate into a fairytale-like setting.
At different times, the guests of Hearst Castle were many famous people — Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, and Calvin Coolidge. The owner often organized parties where the most popular Hollywood celebrities were invited. Nowadays, the castle is uninhabited and open to visitors. Also, pop stars shoot music videos here from time to time
