Megalochori is a hidden gem of Santorini, located away from the main attractions. It is a small, authentic settlement that is still little known to tourists, but it is undoubtedly worth seeing. Its most photographed location is the beautiful bell tower. It is located on the main street and is part of the Church of the Virgin Mary. It will also be interesting in Megalochori to visit the underground caves and the rock-cut church of Agios Nikolas and to find the "heart of Santorini" — one of the most romantic places on the island. It is worth noting that this volcanic soil is used to cultivate the best vineyards in all of Santorini. The sun-dried berries are used to make the famous amber VinSanto.
