Слово сумувати не вимагає жодних прийменників. Вони не сумують за чимось, а сумують щось або когось.

- She missed her family badly.
- Will you miss me?
- John will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

❌ I’m wearing in baggy jeans.
✅ I’m wearing baggy jeans.

Я чудово розумію звідки ноги ростуть, але ми “wear sth”

- Susanna was wearing a black silk dress.
- He wore glasses for reading.

❌ Lviv is my native city.
✅ Lviv is my hometown.
⠀
Хоча в інтернеті ви знайдете багато прикладів вживання “native city” жоден порядний словник такого терміну не подає. На форумах носії пишуть «In my experience, native land and native tongue are used more often by native speakers, or at least AE speakers, while native town and native city are used more often by non-native speakers.»

Коли слово “near” = “nearby” “close” тоді «to» лишнє. Хоча словники дозволяють вживати перший варіант в BrE, проте другий варіант більш поширений.

“Near and near to mean the same, but near is more common” каже Cambridge Dictionary.

- She comes from a small place on the coast near Barcelona.
- My mother loves to sit near the fire at night.
- a hotel near to the beach (less common)

❌ ✅ It’s a photo with me,
✅ It’s a photo of me.
⠀
Перша фраза має місце бути. Але між двома реченнями є різниця.
⠀
“It’s a photo with me” означає, що крім вас на фото є ще хтось.
«This phrase implies that you are in the photo along with other people or elements.» Якщо ви хочете підкреслити контекст чи оточення і ви не головний обʼєкт на фото.

“It’s a photo of me” означає що фотка сфокусована на вас, ви є центром цієї фотографії. «This phrase means that the photo is specifically focused on you as the subject. This is the more common and straightforward way to say that you are the person depicted in the photo.»
