The researchers from LNTU participated in an intensive five-day training program called "Enhancing Higher Education," held at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden as part of the Erasmus+ KA2 CBHE project: "Strengthening the Role of HEIs in Industrial Transformation in the Context of the Industry 4.0 Paradigm in Georgia and Ukraine" from October 16 to 20, 2023.
A delegation from LNTU, including the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Research, Dr. Sc., Prof. Olena Lyutak, the Dean of the Faculty of Customs Affairs, Materials, and Technologies, Dr. Sc. Tech., Prof. Valentyna Tkachuk, the Head of the Materials Science Department, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Mykola Melnychuk (project coordinator), and an expert from the Department of Quality Assurance of Educational Processes, Licensing, and Accreditation, Ph.D. in Education, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Digital Educational Technologies, Yulia Melnychuk, represented the university.
According to the program of the event, participants familiarized themselves with the specifics of the educational process at KTH and ways to enhance the quality of education at both the state and course levels. A significant part of the event focused on the necessity of integrating the concept of sustainable development in education and teaching. The training sessions also addressed the digitization of higher education, as well as rethinking approaches to engineering education. An important focus of the training was on improving the efficiency of teaching educational courses without increasing the lecturer's workload and the importance of accurate assessment and feedback analysis from students. Each topics were accompanied by intensive workshops.
Participants also had the opportunity to explore KTH's campus and the local culture. The program concluded with a final reflection and the issuance of certificates.
The outcome of participating in the training includes new knowledge, experience, and a clear motivation to implement it at LNTU.
