Труднощі в ЗНО

Перш за все, хочу звернутись до батьків, які впевнені , що скласти фінальний іспит ЗНО в 11 класі чи ЄВІ на Мігістратуру легко і показує рівень знань їх дитини. На жаль, це не так.

Жоден міжнародний екзамен не показує, в даний момент ЗНО, Вам точний рівень знань студента. Фактори можуть бути різні: перевтома, недосип перед самим екзаменом, академічна тема (повірте, їх чимало), ніякої підготовки в школі до самого іспиту. А саме головне:

1. На ЗНО подані граматичні теми з рівня С1 (Inversion, deduction in the past, Future forms). В школі ці теми не розглядаються, тому що максимальний рівень в 11 класі профільного англійського класу-В2.
2. 8 видів письма: лист-скарга, офіційний лист, лист другу, подача заяви на роботу і тд. Ви дійсно вважаєте, що учні проходять всі ці теми в школи? За 15 років викладання ще ні один учень з англійського ліцею не прийшов до мене підготовленим в письмі.
3. Аудіювання: лише 8 % учнів набирають 170-200 балів. Чому? Тому що урок аудіювання в школах в кращому випадку -це 1/2 заняття в місяць. І якщо Ваша дитина не особливо цікавиться англійським YouTube, як їй розвивати навичку сприйняття англійської на слух? А це 16 з 59 питань на екзамені ЗНО!!!

Отож, школа ніяк не готує учнів до екзамену. Не кожна школа навіть встигає пройти рівень В2, не кажучи уже про навички письма та аудіювання. Тому я дуже раджу батькам шукати професійних репетиторів хоча б за 2 місяці до іспиту і пройти з дитиною всі люки.

Варто зазначити, що були і учні, які з мінімальним рівнем знань А2-В1 здавали найважчий екзамен з англійської мови на B2 (IELTS 6.5) за 3 місяці підготовки. Чи показує цей бал їхнє реальне знання мови? -Ні, лише те, що учень вивчив структуру екзамену, «вирази-штампи» високого рівня і пару важких граматичних структур, що дуже радує екзаменаторів. Написав мінімум 30 творів репетитору на провірку і з тими же заготовленими штампами пішов на іспит. Вот і результат! Всі браві!

The TOEFL iBT test is scored on a scale of 0 to 120 points.

1. Each of the four sections (Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing) receives a scaled score from 0 to 30. The scaled scores from the four sections are added together to determine the total score.

2. The reading and listening sections are tested first, followed by a ten-minute break. The speaking and writing sections are then completed following the break. A maximum amount of 203 minutes is allowed to complete the whole exam process.

3. Each speaking question is initially given a raw score of 0 to 4, with 1-point increment, and each writing question is initially given a raw score of 0.0 to 5.0, with 0.5-point increment. These scores are converted to scaled scores of 0 to 30.

4. The minimum TOEFL iBT scores range from 61 to 120.

Paper-Based Test

1. The final PBT score ranges between 310 and 677 and is based on three subscores: Listening (31–68), Structure (31–68), and Reading (31–67). Unlike the CBT, the score of the Writing component (referred to as the Test of Written English, TWE) is not part of the final score; instead, it is reported separately on a scale of 0–6.

2. The score test takers receive on the Listening, Structure and Reading parts of the TOEFL test is not the percentage of correct answers. The score is converted to take into account the fact that some tests are more difficult than others. The converted scores correct these differences. Therefore, the converted score is a more accurate reflection of the ability than the raw score is.

TOEFL Listening Tips:

1. Listen for the main idea

You can expect that the first question after almost every lecture is the main idea (gist) question. They are very popular, so it is important to listen for the main idea. At the beginning of the listening passages, the professor usually mentions what the main topic of the lecture will be about.

2. Listen to speaker’s tone of voice

Sometimes you will encounter questions that are about the speaker’s attitude or opinion. To answer these questions correctly, you need to pay attention to the speaker’s tone of voice.

3. Listen to how ideas are connected throughout the lecture

When listening to a lecture, make note of the way the ideas in the lecture are connected. In other words, how the professor organized the lecture. When you encounter a question asking you about how the lecture is organized, you can refer back to your notes. Some of the main relations between ideas include cause/effect, compare/contrast and steps in a process.

4. Listen to the key point not specific details

TOEFL listening questions will not test you on small details. For example, you won’t see questions that are about a specific year, name, or location. Instead, questions will test your understanding of key points mentioned in the lecture.

5. Listen for signal words that indicate different parts of the lecture

To help you capture key points in the lecture, you need to learn to listen for signal words or transition words. These words are like the road signs that tell you what is coming next. Signal words can tell you the beginning or the end of a topic. They can also help you move through the middle of the lecture by introducing topics.
