Read the short text about an autumn day.
Then write 3–5 questions about the text.
You can ask about the weather, the place, the activities, or the person in the text.
Сьогодні осінній день. На вулиці прохолодно, але не холодно. Листя на деревах жовте й червоне. Я гуляю в парку, п’ю гарячу каву і слухаю музику. У парку тихо і красиво. Мені подобається осінь.

🇺🇦 Cultural Insight for Learners of Ukrainian
One important aspect of Ukrainian communication is genuine warmth and sincerity. Even short expressions like «Доброго дня!», «Гарного дня вам!», or «Щасливо!» are not just formalities—they’re small gestures of friendliness.
When Ukrainians ask «Як справи?», they usually expect more than a quick “I’m fine.” It’s a real question, an invitation to share a bit about your day or mood. This is seen as a natural part of polite, human interaction.
So when you practice Ukrainian, try giving a slightly fuller answer:
✨ «Добре, дякую. Сьогодні багато роботи, але настрій чудовий.»
This helps you sound more natural and also reflects the cultural value of sincere communication.
Ukrainians appreciate warm, open conversation, and it’s a great opportunity to practice real, everyday language.

Verbs ходити / їздити denote movement not in one definite direction, but in many different directions (possibly occurring at intervals).
Хто це той чоловік, який ходить під вікном?
По неділях ми їздимо за місто.
Verbs of indefinite motion may denote movement in two opposite directions — there and back:
Я щодня ходжу в університет.
Багато людей щороку їздять на море у відпустку.
Verbs of indefinite motion are also used in the past tense to denote movement there and back, which occurred on one occasion only:
Вчора ми ходили у музей.
Минулого літа студенти їздили на практику.
Verbs of indefinite motion are used to describe an action in general, or one’s capacity for action:
Дитина вже ходить.
Його нова машина їздить дуже швидко.

These verbs denote movement in one definite direction. They are called verbs of definite motion:

Поїзд їде (куди?) у Львів. - The train is going to Lviv.
The verb “йти/ іти” conveys the motion of people or animals on foot in a definite direction. It is also used to describe the motion of a bus, a tram, or a trolleybus. In addition, one uses these verbs to convey a sense of “visiting” someone or something.
Наша сусідка йде з дітьми в парк. - Our neighbor is going to the park with the children.
Скажіть, будь ласка, який автобус (трамвай, тролейбус) іде в центр? - Tell me, please, which bus (tram, trolleybus) goes downtown?
The verb “їхати" conveys the motion by means of a vehicle.

За місто друзі їдуть машиною. - The friends are going out of town by car.
Ukrainian Verbs of Motion: Simple Guide for Beginners
Ukrainian has a special group of verbs called verbs of motion. They describe how we move from one place to another. The main idea: one action vs. repeated/regular action, and sometimes with a vehicle vs. on foot.
Here are the most common pairs:
йти / ходити — to go on foot
йти = going now, in one direction
ходити = repeated action or general ability
їхати / їздити — to go by transport
їхати = going now, in one direction
їздити = repeated action or habit
Examples:
Я йду до магазину. (I’m going to the store now.)
Я ходжу до спортзалу щодня. (I go to the gym regularly.)
Вона їде на роботу. (She is going to work by transport.)
Він їздить на роботу потягом. (He regularly goes to work by train.)
