TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language. The main purpose is to know how good is ur English.
IELTS - The world most expensive English test. Getting 7 or 8 bands on each subject (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing) is the same situation that you roll 4 dices and get more than 5 or 6 on each dice.
GMAT - prerequisite examination for MBA programs, constructed by formerly tortured high school nerds as a way to b-slap formerly popular jocks and student government later in life. Depletes social life; causes anxiety, irritability, and loss of libido.
GRE - Graduate Record Examination which is an entrance exam to graduate school. This test is designed by a group of malevolent pedagogues who seem to think that just because we do not use words such as obsequious or pusillanimous in our everyday speech means we would certainly not be a qualified graduate student.
SAT - The past tense of 'sit'.
