Dear friends and Skovoroda followers, as you know, this year we are going to celebrate the 300th anniversary since Skovoroda birthday. However, today it has become known that at night of May 7, 2022 russian occupiers destroyed the Hryhoriy Skovoroda National Museum in the Kharkiv region with a missile! Skovoroda Museum is located in the village of Skovorodynivka (Bohodukhiv district, Kharkiv region). It was an estate of the XVIII century, where Skovoroda had been working for the last years of his life and near which he was buried. The museum was planned to be restored: repairing the office building and equip the park," - Oleksandr Tkachenko (a minister of culture and information policy) said. Additionally, it was planning to create "Skovoroda.Today" - a website with all the upcoming events but Russia's invasion on the 24th of February has crossed everything. And now it's continuing to ruin not only infrostructure, but also cultural heritage of Ukraine!
We cannot allow this happen!

If you wish, you can congratulate your military acquaintances with "з Днем захисника\захисниці" or with a general plural form "З Днем захисників України!". Ukrainians usually add a few words of gratitude to the greeting. It is totally appropriate to greet volunteers too.

* the word захисник means defender, protector or guardian depending on the context
