Today is the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation in Ukraine and around the world, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Second World War.
The commemoration on May 8 is a tribute to the nearly 80 million people whose lives were cut short by a violence. Men and women, military and civilians, children and adults - all those who died and those who survived in the hell of War.
The as a symbol of honoring the memory of those killed in military conflicts appeared more than a hundred years ago. Perhaps because poppies have always sprouted on the graves of soldiers.
