Viktor Ruban is a choreographer, researcher, dance educator and culture activist based in Kyiv. He is a representative and co-founder of CO ICF Impulse Transformation Platform NGO (UEPAF), director general of Ruban Production ITP, as well as founder of the – platform for international studies in somatic dance and performative practices, movement-based art and research.

У світі сучасного танцю існують імена, які залишають слід у серцях глядачів. Одним із таких імен є Віктор Рубан🇺🇦 — український режисер та хореограф, чиї роботи вражають своєю відвертістю, провокативністю, енергією та глибиною🎭💥 І який долучився до нашої команди та став спів-куратором перфомативної частини проєкту “UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH".

👉Віктор Рубан - перформер, дослідник, доктор філософії за спеціальністю культурологія. Випускник практичної магістерської програми «E.X.E.R.C.E. 11/13 – хореографічне дослідження і перформанс» на базі Національного Хореографічного Центру в м. Монпельє, Франція (під керівництвом Mathilde Monnier) й Університету імені Поля Валері (Університет Монпельє III).

👉Віктор народився в Україні і з дитинства захоплювався рухом та виразністю тіла. Згодом це захоплення переросло у професійну діяльність, яка зробила його одним із найяскравіших представників сучасного танцювального перфомансу в Україні та за її межами. Він відомий своїми експериментальними підходами до танцю. Його постановки — це поєднання сучасного танцю, перформансу та театральності. Він працює з різними жанрами, як танцю так і театру, і завжди намагається розширити межі традиційного танцю поєднуючи його з іншими видами мистецтв🕺🎨
Його роботи часто торкаються соціальних та емоційних тем, таких як ідентичність, свобода, взаємини між людьми. Він вважає, що танець — це мова, яка може виразити те, що неможливо сказати словами.

🎭 Новий перформанс ✨"UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH" Einzigartige Performance-Veranstaltung in Köln! ✨ - 22 січня 2025 року в Кельні відбудеться прем’єра нового перформансу, створеного командою українських та німецьких митців - стyденток Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln – Hannah Reena Reif та Viola Cantù та кафедри "Хореографії і танцювальних видів спорту" Національного університету фізичного виховання та спорту України – Анна Кочубей і Дарина Коверзюк.

💃 Це буде дія чотирьох грацій, яка об’єднає дві культури через рух, музику та емоції та стане динамічною частиною виставки UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH.

🌟Achtung! Wir präsentieren den Kurator des performativen Teils des Projekts "UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH" - Viktor Ruban - ein ukrainischer Choreograf, der Bewegung zum Leben erweckt🌟

In der Welt des zeitgenössischen Tanzes gibt es Namen, die Spuren in den Herzen der Zuschauer hinterlassen. Einer dieser Namen ist Viktor Ruban 🇺🇦 – ein ukrainischer Regisseur und Choreograf, dessen Werke durch ihre Offenheit, Provokation, Energie und Tiefe beeindrucken 🎭💥 Er hat sich unserem Team angeschlossen und ist Mitkurator des performativen Teils des Projekts "UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH" geworden.

👉Viktor Ruban ist Performer, Forscher und Doktor der Philosophie im Fach Kulturwissenschaften. Absolvent des praktischen Masterprogramms „E.X.E.R.C.E. 11/13 – Choreografische Forschung und Performance“ am Nationalen Choreografischen Zentrum in Montpellier, Frankreich (unter der Leitung von Mathilde Monnier) und der Universität Paul-Valéry (Universität Montpellier III).
🌍 In 20 Jahren Berufstätigkeit hat er Hunderte von Projekten in Bulgarien, Großbritannien, Georgien, Spanien, Kanada, Lettland, Libanon, Litauen, Deutschland, Polen, Rumänien, den USA, der Ukraine, Finnland, Frankreich, Kroatien und Schweden realisiert.

👉Viktor wurde in der Ukraine geboren und war seit seiner Kindheit von Bewegung und Körperausdruck fasziniert. Diese Leidenschaft entwickelte sich zu einer professionellen Tätigkeit, die ihn zu einem der bekanntesten Vertreter des zeitgenössischen Tanzperformances in der Ukraine und darüber hinaus gemacht hat. Er ist bekannt für seine experimentellen Ansätze zum Tanz. Seine Inszenierungen sind eine Kombination aus zeitgenössischem Tanz, Performance und Theatralik. Er arbeitet mit verschiedenen Genres, sowohl im Tanz als auch im Theater, und versucht stets, die Grenzen des traditionellen Tanzes zu erweitern, indem er ihn mit anderen Kunstformen verbindet 🕺🎨
Seine Werke behandeln oft soziale und emotionale Themen wie Identität, Freiheit und zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen. Er glaubt, dass Tanz eine Sprache ist, die ausdrücken kann, was mit Worten nicht gesagt werden kann.

🎭 Neue Performance ✨"UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH" Einzigartige Performance-Veranstaltung in Köln! ✨- Am 22. Januar 2025 findet in Köln die Premiere einer neuen Performance statt, die von einem Team ukrainischer und deutscher Künstlerinnen geschaffen wurde – den Studentinnen der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln🇩🇪 – Hannah Reena Reif und Viola Cantù – sowie der Abteilung „Choreografie und Tanzsport“ der НУФВСУ/National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport🇺🇦– Anna Kochubei und Darina Koverziuk.
💃 Es wird eine Aktion der vier Grazien sein, die zwei Kulturen durch Bewegung, Musik und Emotionen verbindet und ein dynamischer Teil der Ausstellung UKRAINISCHES KUNSTTAGEBUCH sein wird.

☝️Das Projekt wurde von der Nichtregierungsorganisation Perfect Art Group mit Unterstützung des IZOLYATSIA. Platform for Cultural Initiatives., des Netzwerks Trans Europe Halles und des Kulturzentrums Malý Berlín realisiert. Es wird im Rahmen des Programms mit Kofinanzierung durch die European Union in Ukraine umgesetzt, um ukrainische Vertriebene und den ukrainischen Kultursektor zu unterstützen.

Please find bellow some general informations about the two residencies that will take place in Bucharest and Wroclaw between May - October 2024.

1 - Performing Togetherness
is a new type of laboratory-residence developed by Cosmin Manolescu & Fundația Gabriela Tudor as a result of the crisis within the cultural sector following the pandemic period and the war in Ukraine. It is a platform for research, cultural dialogue, reflection and innovation in which the participants are invited to meet and confront different points of view about culture and life and discover a new cultural routine based on belonging to the concept of togetherness.

The laboratory aims to foster creativity and interdisciplinarity looking into the future, (re)imagining new ways of performativity, culture and life by creating a space for dialogue, sharing of different artistic practices, exchange and collaboration but also for reflection on (post)war in Europe.

Makers from different disciplines, cultural researchers and experts in biodiversity, are invited together in a collective co-authorship process, to slow-down its activity and allow time for reflection and experiment, interviewing the emotions and memories of people in relation to nature, city and life.

For bold participants – dance makers, visual artists, musicians, writers, researchers and experts in biodiversity from Austria, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Romania, ready to embark for 3 weeks in a collective and co-authorship process. Following the first laborator, one of the projects proposed collectively by the participants (up to 3 people), will be given an 3 weeks research time to be developed and further tested in October 2024 in a residence in Bucharest at AREAL and Pavilion Goethe Institute.

2 - Culture Utopias
is a new type of residency that aims to create a shared and courageous space for artists, cultural managers, activists and citizens from Romania, Poland and Ukraine to reflect on the challenges Europe has faced in the last decade.

Offered jointly by Tudor Foundation (Bucharest), Wroclaw Institute of Culture (Wroclaw) and Proto produkciia (Kyiv), the double residency in Bucharest and Wroclaw (Poland) is open for a diverse range of participants - artists, researchers, cultural professionals - interested in meaningful connections, being capable of critical reflections and being optimistic to the future.

Our double residency in Bucharest and Wroclaw wants to propose a new model of slow collaboration with an important interdisciplinary and cross-sectorial component adapted to the post-pandemic, and hopefully, post-war context in Ukraine. Thus, the residence is addressing collaboration, innovation, reflection and research as the objective of this specific call.

The two residencies in 2024 will take place in Bucharest at AREAL - space for choreographic development and are organized in the frame of “What’s next? Safe cultural multi-spaces for multidisciplinary reflection on (post)war and (post)crisis European identity,” a project created in partenership by zusa (Germany), MitOst e.V. (Germany), Musiktheatertage Wien (Austria), proto produkciia (Ukraine), Wroclaw Cultural Institute (Poland) and Gabriela Tudor Foundation, co-funded by European Union through the Creative Europe Program.

Нарешті ділимося фото з нашої презентації лекції-перформансу «Броніслава Ніжинська. Танц-реконструкція» у неймовірному Hellerau - Europäisches Zentrum der Künste у Дрездені протягом спеціальної програми Поруч/Nebenan присвяченої знайомству німецького глядача із незалежним сценічним мистецтвом України. Дуже потужна програма була представлена (лінк у посиланні👇). Дуже вдячні партнерам за запрошення і неймовірну гостинність 🫶💙💛

Дуже вдячні Dance Base , Assembly festival та British Council за підтримку і першу презентацію цього проєкту. Будемо раді презентувати “How do you dance in the war zone?” виставку у якомога більшій кількості міст та країн 🤞🤞💫 (вже працюємо над цим 🙂💙💛).
