First Ukrainian 🇺🇦 Patroness of the College of Europe will be Victoria Amelina, Ukrainian novelist and war crimes researcher who was killed in a russia’s missile attack on Kramatorsk in 2023 at the age of 37!

Our Alumni community is very touched and honoured by this choice of the Promotion Patron, but deeply saddened to admit that the price of this high recognition is a death in Russia’s unjustified war against Ukraine.

Слава Україні! 🇺🇦

This morning, russian missile took a life of a 21 year old girl who was working on bringing EU values closer to Ukrainian youth... along with her mother and two younger sisters...

Last night, Yaryna Bazylevych, a 21-year-old program manager at , was killed along with her two younger sisters and mother in a Russian attack on Lviv. Yaryna was a kind and bright individual, passionate about her work and dedicated to bringing EU values closer to Ukrainian youth.

Tragically, Yaryna went to sleep yesterday as usual, but she will never wake up. Every night, Russian missiles and drones terrorize our cities, and this time they destroyed her home and took her family's lives.

Yaryna dreamed of building new bridges between the EU and Ukrainian youth, but now she’ll never get the chance. Her loss is a devastating reminder of the ongoing Russian brutal war against Ukraine and its peaceful cities.

There are two ways to prevent Russia's terror. First, strengthen the air shield over Ukraine. Second, allow Ukraine to strike legitimate military targets in Russia without limitations.

Give Ukraine more ability to defend itself.
