Заснована у 2008 році, Докторська школа імені родини Юхименків НаУКМА - перша в Україні докторська школа європейського зразка. Цей підрозділ забезпечує підготовку та атестацію здобувачів ступеня доктора філософії і доктора наук The Doctoral School at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy is an educational and research unit of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, that provides educational activities through traditional post-graduate programs (“aspirantura” and “doktorantura”), and through newly founded, EHEA-compliant, structured PhD programs. The NaUKMA Doctoral School maintains learning and research opportunities to enable post-graduate students, obtaining a broad set of skills and deliver successful research according to national and international expectations and requirements. The NaUKMA Doctoral School elaborates and disseminates practical models of the 3rd cycle of education basing on the requirements and regulations of EHEA and ERA. The key principle of learning and research activities in NaUKMA Doctoral School is the commitment to the production of knowledge that is considered to be the primary source of innovation and development in contemporary “knowledge society”. Doctoral School is aimed to create a learning environment that will enable Doctoral Students to develop intellectual maturity and high level of reflection, to make judgements or critical independent analysis, and also to encourage creativity, initiative and independent research projects. Doctoral Education in NaUKMA is intended for the advancement of knowledge through original research, based on a structured learning element in which the high-level methodological knowledge and skills can be acquired and assessed against the criteria set out by EHEA. It provides appropriate and effective teaching, support, assessment and learning opportunities for students and academicians. Currently eight Doctoral Programs provide postgraduate learning and research opportunities:
