And although now the role of the port is no longer so great, to this day you can see fishing boats in coastal waters, and in the city you can taste fried sardines.

Against the background of the southern flavor of Marrakech, in the realm of heat, noise and colorful colors, an oasis of coolness and peace stands out in a special way - the Majorelle Garden. This landmark of Morocco was once created according to the plan of the French artist Jacques Majorelle, who, impressed by the brightness and eccentricity of Marrakesh, built a Moorish-style villa and laid out a magnificent garden nearby. He revived the garden with a variety of rare plant species - such as Asian bamboo, palm trees, cacti and other plants from India, Mesopotamia, California, the Mediterranean.

Not far from the city of Tangier, nature has carved interesting depressions in the rocks with the help of sea water. The outline of access to the sea in one of the grottoes of Hercules resembles the outline of the African continent. For many years, stone has been mined in these parts. The grottoes got their name thanks to an ancient legend, according to which Hercules spent the night in one of them before his next of 12 labors - the theft of golden apples from the garden of the Hesperides.

Due to the large elevation difference in the area where the city of Porto is located, one cannot do without a diverse and even somewhat exotic transport - for example, such as a funicular. The only funicular that exists in Porto connects two urban areas - the famous tourist Ribeira on the sea coast, with famous Porto hotels and restaurants, and the more modest Batalha, located on a hill. A capacious trailer with transparent walls moves along the monorail for 280 meters for 3 minutes.

In the highest part of Porto, in its historical center, rises the city's cathedral. The building of the cathedral was repeatedly rebuilt and supplemented, so its external design eventually lost the features of architectural unity. Its appearance with a predominance of lead-gray shades is distinguished by strictness and even some severity, which makes an even more vivid impression on its visitors. A recognizable decoration of the facade is a window in the form of a Romanesque rose, and the main jewel of the cathedral was an 800-kilogram silver altar walled up in an altar niche.
