Experts say U.S. vaccination efforts aren't likely to be significantly affected after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) halted use of Johnson & Johnson's vaccine Tuesday due to concerns of a side effect.

The FDA and CDC said in a joint statement that out of more than 6.8 million doses administered of the J&J vaccine, there were six reports, including one fatality, of a rare blood clot in the brain — known as cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.

"We are recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution," the two health agencies added.

SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell does not think the company will add “tiered pricing” for its direct-to-consumer Starlink satellite internet service, which is currently offered at $100 a month in limited early access.

“I don’t think we’re going to do tiered pricing to consumers. We’re going to try to keep it as simple as possible and transparent as possible, so right now there are no plans to tier for consumers,” Shotwell said, speaking at the Satellite 2021 on a virtual panel on Tuesday.

DVAX, +1.13% said Tuesday that French vaccine maker Valneva plans to commence a Phase 3 trial of its inactivated COVID-19 vaccine candidate, VLA2001, with Dynavax's CpG (TM) adjuvant by the end of April after achieving positive results in a Phase 1/2 trial. The trial involved 153 healthy adults aged 18 to 55 years old and found the combination was safe and highly immunogenic.
