Humans made animated art tens of thousands of years ago. The 21,000 years old cave paintings in Lascaux, France were made in such a way that flickering oil light would create the illusion of motion on the cave-painted animals. When the cave was discovered in 1940, more than 100 small stone lamps that once burned grease from rendered animal fat were found throughout its chambers. A flickering flame in the cave may have conjured impressions of motion like a strobe light in a dark club.

Project Thor explored using large projectiles from 1,000+ miles above the Earth. The “rods from Gods” would be a bundle of telephone-pole-sized tungsten rods, which when dropped from orbit could reach up to 10 times the speed of sound. The explosion it could create would be on par with a nuke, but without any nuclear fallout.

Sarah Wilson, born in the 1700s, was an English conwoman who often travelled in the United Kingdom, presenting herself to be of royalty and conned many lower class families. She was convicted as thief in 1770s. She however managed to escape to America and lived like a royalty for the rest of her life, under the guise of Princess Carolina Matilda.

Kansas City blatantly ignored Prohibition. You could buy booze a few blocks down from the police station. They got away with it scot-free for all 13 years (1920 to 1933).
