My dear friends.

Kryvyi Rih city is not rich in events and last year the number of it was extremely decreased after the russian invasion.

Trying to fill this vacuum 18th of March 2023 I held my volunteering project - English speaking club at Kryvyi Rih city. It was 119th meeting.

The topic was "countries". We discussed life on the continents of the planet, interests and differs.

It's such a pleasure to gather locals and refugees, united with one aim to improve our foreign language skills and dream about a peaceful future.

My dear friends!

4 years ago I started volunteering project Duolingo English speaking club at Kryvyi Rih city, Ukraine.

The main aim was to improve speaking abilities of locals to have possibility to travel abroad, to study, to enjoy life better.

The second aim was to help foreign guests to communicate with locals.

2022 was a tragedic year without guests because russian invasion into Ukraine closed my country as a touristic toute for many who could visit it.

In 2023 I can only find journalists and volunteers with foreign passport in my city.

117th meeting of English speaking club was double unique - firstly because we had a volunteer from Japan Naoya Kodama with whom I spent the whole weekend as a driver, translator, fixer, tourguide full of meetings and kind actions.
Second uniqueness was that first time in the club's history meeting was done in a real bomb and chemical attack shelter with 2 meters of concrete above us.

russians still send only presents they can - rockets, drones and other dangerous toys to civil Ukrainian cities and this weekend the alert was maximal.
So to not cancel the incredible interesting meeting the place was choosen as the most safe I could find.

One of the room of the shelter is decorated in a musician record studio so the club was not only the safest but also the most unusual.
Such life, such conditions.
