The main sights of The Hague can be briefly described as a huge complex of ancient buildings of the past centuries. Binnenhof is, first of all, the cultural heritage of the city, and only then the building in which the main legislative body of the country, the States General, gathers. The historical past of this place dates back to the distant 13th century, when the Dutch count Floris IV ordered the construction of a small hunting castle here, which would later become the basis for the great city of The Hague.
