El Misty
Among all the active volcanoes in the world on the map, this one is rightfully considered the most beautiful. Its summit is sometimes covered with snow. The mountain is located near the city of Arequipa, its height is 5822 meters. The volcano is notable for the fact that on its top there are two craters with diameters of almost 1 km and 550 m. There are unusual parabolic dunes on the slopes. They appeared as a result of constant winds between El Misti and Mount Cerro Tacune, they stretch for 20 km.

Santa Maria, Guatemala
Santa Maria, GuatemalaThe active stratovolcano Santa Maria is located in the western part of Guatemala, in the immediate vicinity of the city of Quetzaltenango. Its height above sea level is about 3,770 meters, according to scientists, the first eruption of the Santa Maria volcano occurred about 30,000 years ago. The first officially recorded eruption occurred a little over a hundred years ago, in 1902, it claimed the lives of six thousand people.

Etna, Italy
The effectiveness of the use of the volcano on the territory of Europe is about 3.5 years ago and, according to approximate estimates of scientific conspiracies, it erupted at least 200 times. Small eruptions are regularly observed, which attracts fans of extreme tourism to Sicily. The height of Etna is about 3,330 meters, after strong eruptions it changes.

Kirishima Mountain Range
The southernmost of Japan’s four main islands is Kyushu, famous for its natural beauty as well as its many volcanic peaks. On the border of Miyazaki and Kagoshima prefectures lies the Kirishima Mountains, a group of active volcanoes that includes Karakuni-dake, its highest peak at 1,700 meters. Renowned for its many onsen locations, Kirishima is a fantastic place to visit if hiking and soaking in hot springs is what you’re all about.

Mt. A*o
Japan’s most active volcano is Mount A*o in the centre of Kyushu. The most recent eruption of Mount A*o was in 2016. The volcanic activity has calmed down since, but the activity level is still high and when visiting the area you might not be able to approach the crater. Mount A*o has a huge caldera, with a circumference of around 120 km it is amongst the worlds largests. In the centre, the spectacular volcanic peak Mt. Nakadake attracts a large number of visitors year round. The crater of Nakadake is 600m in diameter, 130m in depth and 4km in circumference and inside lies a beautiful fuming blue lake. You can access the crater by car or take the ropeway up to the top. You can also hop on the bus from A*o train station. Note that access can be restricted because of the toxic gases released from the Nakadake.

Nyiragongo
From the European record holder to the African record holder, Nyiragongo is the most dangerous volcano in Africa due to its extreme volcanic activity and the special chemical composition of the lava. The activity is really outrageous - more than half of the eruptions in Africa occur on this volcano.
The main danger is the never-cooling lava lake in the crater of the volcano with a temperature of 982 Cº. Under such conditions, the lava of the volcano is extremely hot and liquid, and with a gigantic force of tremors, it reaches a surge of up to 30 m and flows down at a speed of 100 km / h.

Regularly causing destruction, the volcano in 2002 alone claimed the lives of 147 people, caused damage and left several thousand people homeless. Despite being surrounded by webcams, seismographs and other devices for monitoring the activity of the volcano, no one can accurately predict the eruption of Nyiragongo.
