Tumaini University Makumira Vice Chancellor, Rev. Prof. Faustin Mahali, observed the final match on 6th February 2025, as the Chancellor, Bishop Dr. Alex Malasusa, officially closed the tournament. The final was between Education III and LLB III, where LLB III emerged victorious with a 1–0 win.

🏆 DR. MALASUSA CUP 2026 – CLOSING CEREMONY 🏆
On 6th February 2026, the Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) and Chancellor of Tumaini University Makumira, Dr. Alex Malasusa, officiated the closing ceremony of the Dr. Malasusa Cup.

During the event, Dr. Malasusa encouraged all participants to continue engaging in sports and physical exercise to keep their bodies fit and minds healthy for greater academic achievement.
The preliminary match was played between TUMA Staff and TUMASO, where TUMA Staff secured a convincing 4–1 victory.

The final match featured a thrilling battle between Education III and LL.B III, where LL.B III emerged as the champions of the 2026 Dr. Malasusa Cup. 🎉⚽

Congratulations to the winners and all participants for making the tournament a success!

Inauguration of the Dr. Alex Malasusa Cup by Prof. Mahali

The Dr. Alex Malasusa Cup officially started today, 26th January 2026, and was named in honor of Chancellor Bishop Dr. Alex Malasusa. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Prof. Mahali, the Vice Chancellor of Tumaini University Makumira, who emphasized the values of sportsmanship, competition, and excellence among participants
At Tumaini University Makumira, we aspire to nurture our students’ talents across a variety of sports and games, providing them with opportunities to develop their skills, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on 6th February 2026, with Dr. Alex Malasusa serving as the Guest of Honour for the closing ceremony.
