Eco-Schools' Program Teacher Training with Ward and District Quality assurers and Education Officers📚📚📚📚
Eco-schools’ program in Tanzania conducted training to district education officers, district quality assurers, ward education officers and teachers from new and old schools to equip teachers and education officers with knowledge and skills on how to teach by using Eco-schools’ approach i.e., Investigation, Vision, Action, Change (IVAC) that aligns with the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) directed by national education policy and curriculum. The approach (IVAC) gives enough opportunity for a learner to act while the teacher has to direct and give proper explanation when necessary. During the training teachers also had opportunity to learn about the relationship between Eco-Schools program and Sustainable Development Goals, Human Rights Based Approach and Education for Sustainable Development.

Through circular economy project, pilot schools from Tanzania have succeeded to control paper waste generated in schools through production of charcoal briquettes. CONGURATULATIONS TO THE GOVERNMENT OF TANZANIA FOR HOSTELS CONSTRUCTION AT KISANGA SECONDARY SCHOOL.
Kisanga Secondary School is one of the government schools, established 2007, it is under 5 villages councils of Wedo, Msolwa, Mululu, Madizini and Kisanga which make a Kisanga ward and it is one of the beneficiaries of Eco-school Program Tanzania (ESPT) under Kilosa District Council, Morogoro region, Tanzania.
The Kisanga Secondary school has 760 students (Boys- 353, and Girls- 407), and 14 teachers. Since 2007 there were no hostels for both boys and girls which posse a challenge on the quality of education provided.
However, this year the government of Tanzania supported the school with two hostel buildings for boys and girls with carrying capacity of 160 students (80- Boys and 80-Girls). The two building will serve both boys and girls from distant villages of Madizini (24 km to and fro Kisanga Secondary school), and Msolwa (20 km to and fro Kisanga Secondary school) and nearby needy students.
Furthermore, through stakeholders’ meetings organized by ESPT and Kilosa District council; both the Eco-school Programme in Tanzania and Kilosa District council call for other stakeholders both national and international to support the school and construction of remaining hostels at Kisanga secondary school for supporting boys’ and girls’ education in order to reach the programme goal of “promoting active citizenship and improved livelihoods through education for sustainable development”.
