[01/29/21]   Ngudu zangu wapendwa;

My dear friends;
Here at KIOO we run ICT training for young men and women from poor families in rural areas. This training is taking place in the village of Ilagala where our KIOO Secondary School is located. All training participants are staying at the school for six months of training. Food, accommodation and other training costs are provided by our KOOO organization in collaboration with development partners.
After the training, the trainees will be placed in groups of 4 to 6 people through their developed small business ventures so that the skills can start helping them to earn living. To achieve this goal each group will have a working idea that they will present (pitching) to various stakeholders and experts on graduation day.
Preparations for the training are going well although there are shortages of several tools including computers. In order for our training to go well we need 20 computers where each costs 4 hundred thousand Tanzanian shillings including its transport to school. Another thing we need is white boards for teaching where we also need 5; each is sold for 5 hundred thousand shillings including transport to school.
I urge my fellow Tanzanians and others to be touched by this matter because it is developmental. If there is a person with a computer or money at any level we welcome him. Funds should be sent to our Union of Glass Facilitators account, Account number 01J108794600 CRDB Kigoma branch. And if it is a device please call us or whatsap on +255622018397 for more contact.
God bless you so much.

Helping the needy is lending to the Lord

KIOO has been operating a vocational center in Ilagala village; the village was chosen because the large number of children and young people need vocational training as most of them are unable to graduate from secondary school or couldn’t finish for other reasons. Additionally, due to high level of early pregnancies there is a need to have vocational education to help pregnant young women to acquire an education after getting kicked out of schools.

What we are doing:
The Vocational Training Center focuses on providing the basic training to be self-sufficient and break the poverty cycle. The Center teaches masonry, carpentry, tailoring, IT, soap making, welding, entrepreneurship and business management. Our training center is helping to empower women in rural areas to live self-sufficiently.

Impact of project:
So far, our vocational training center in Ilagala has trained 1550 students and given them the skills needed to become self-sufficient. All trainee graduated from our centre have been given startup kits to enable them to start and run their own business.

Main Challenges:
The Vocational Center is in dire need of building two dormitories to enable young people and children from other villages rather than Ilagala to benefit from our services. We also need a combined library/computer room and dining hall for the students. All buildings need a total of 224,000 USD to be accomplished where bricks, stone and unskilled labour is not included because it is community contribution. The bricks are already at the site; your contribution will help this to happen.

The contribution is received through my PayPal account which is [email protected]
