LOCATION
Adolph Kolping English Medium Primary School is a coeducational Boarding and Day school situated at the top of
Ihungo hill in Nshambya ward, Bukoba Municipality, Kagera
region about 8 Kilometers from Bukoba town along the
Kashozi road. Also the school is accessible by the road which
passes through the school, coming from Ihungo Secondary
School winding to Kashenye area down the hill
towards Bukoba
Municipality. SCHOOL BACKGROUND
Upon fulfi llment of all registration requirements by the
government, the school was issued with the following
registration certifi cates by the Ministry of Education and
Vocational Training on 20th October, 2008. JA/259/287/692 for Pre-school; and
KA.01/3/010 Reference No.JA/259/287/672 for the Primary
school. AKEMPS was started as a kindergarten at Bweyambiro
in the town near the airport by the Director of Kolping Society
of Tanzania Rev. David Kamugisha in 2004.The foundation
stone on the present premiseswas laid on 31st August, 2006 by
Hon Mr. The school was later shifted to the present premises in
March, 2007. It had 62 pupils, (38 boys and 24 girls) with 8 staff
members totaling to 70 people. The classes which existed were
kindergarten stage I & II and Standard I & II. The pioneer pupils

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
The activities taking place in the school include:
1. Teaching subjects such as; Mathematics, English
language, Science, Kiswahili language, Vocational skills,
Personality Development and Sports, ICT, Religious
education, Geography, History, Civics for standards III – VII.
2. School brass band.
4. Excursions for religious festivals and Mass.

initiated by both Adolph Kolping
Kindergarten and English Medium
Primary School (AKEMPS). The subjects taught include Basic
Mathematics, English Language,
Physics, Kiswahili, Chemistry,
Biology,
Geography, History, Civics,
Christian Religious Education,
Commerce, Book keeping and
Information Communication
Science.
