For the first twelve years it was run by the Bishop o For the first twelve years it was run by the Bishop of Central Tanganyika on behalf of the Government.

Arusha School was opened in May 1934 as a Government co-educational School for European Children, superseding the Farm for at West Kilimanjaro, which had been housed in temporary buildings since 1928. In 1946 the original agreement was revised and the Government assumed control of the School. The Bishop of Central Tanganyika was appointed Warden of the school and presided over meetings of the Scho

ol Council. On 1st May 1963, control of the school was vested on a Board of Governors appointed by the Ministry of Education and chaired by the Bishop of Central Tanganyika Diocese of Anglican Church. Since the implementation of the 1970 Educational Act, the school was managed by a Board of Governors entirely appointed by the Ministry of National Education. In 1972 the Government took over the school and dissolved the Board of Governors. In 1975 the Ministry of National Education appointed an Advisory Board which had the power to advise the school administration and the Ministry on various school matters. After the introduction of the National Education Act of 1978 the Ministry appointed a School Board.

It's with sincere gratitude that we share that our students with albinism have been the recipients of generous support from a group of former Australian volunteers that includes new school uniforms, shoes, towels, and blankets. These generous volunters extended their support after visiting our school and mobilizing the financial donations of their friends, relatives, and colleagues back home in Australia.We are also grateful to members of our local school staff for their coordination with our Australian sponsors to ensure their donations reached pur students.
