FAQs naman po tayo.

1. Okay lang po ba kahit hindi English major? The answer is YES as long as kaya mo magturo ng English. Just be mindful na dito sa Taiwan very particular sila sa pronunciation, accent, at grammar.

2. Madali lang ba? In general, hindi talaga. Remember na ang English sa kanila ay foreign. Ganto yan, halimbawa tayo ay mag-aaral ng Chinese language, mahirap dba? Kasi foreign sa atin yun. So, ganun din ang English sa kanila.

3. Paano po ung teaching loads? Ang teaching loads ay maximum ng 20 periods sa isang linggo. Kapag ikaw ay napunta sa elem, 40 mins ang isang period, 45 naman sa Junior HS at 50 sa Senior HS.

4. May age requirements ba? Wala. Pero gaya nga ng sabi, techy ang Taiwan. Kaya make sure ba makakasabay tayo sa technology in teaching.

5. May kasama ba akong teacher pag nagtuturo? Co-teaching dito sa Taiwan pero kadalasan kapag FET ikaw lang magtuturo Kasama mo sa classroom ang iyong local English teacher.

6. May assurance ba na ihahire ako sa susunod na taon? Yearly ang contract dito sa Taiwan. May pros and cons yan. Pros, kapag hindi okay ang environment sa school, pwede ka palipat or lumipat. Isa sa cons ay pag di ka nirenew. So ano dapat gawin? gawin ang best.

7. Legit ba ang salary na nakapost sa mga website? Legit. YES. Yan ay published din sa Ministry of Education sa Taiwan.

8. 6 years na ako sa DepEd, at graduate na ako ng Masters noong 2022. Ibig sabihin ang sahod ko ba ay nsa linya ng Masters tapos 6 years experience? NO. Kung kelan mo natapos ang degree plus bilang ka ng experience mo from that year, yun ung magging pay mo. Bakit? Hindi mo pa naman degree yung Masters nung na-acquire mo ung mga experiences na un. Gets?

9. Ano-anong mga benefits? Bukod sa sahod na taon-taon nagtataas, meron kang housing allowance na 5000ntd kung ikaw at solo dito at kung ksama mo ang iyong asawa o mga anak, meron kang 10,000ntd.

10. Gaano kadalas pwede umuwi ng Pinas? Basta may pamasahe ka ay pwede ka umuwi. Yung airfare ticket sa simula at end ng contract ay sagot ng school.

11. May sahod ba kapag bakasyon? Ang contract sa Taiwan ay 11 months. Kaya technically wala pero meron dito na performance bonus na equivalent to one month salary depende sa evaluation sayo.

Hi, everyone!
Marami ang nagtatanong paano nga ba mag-apply sa Taiwan bilang Foreign English Teacher (FET) at English Teaching Assistant (FETA).

Mahalagang ihanda muna ang 3 basic documents. What are these?

1. Diploma and TOR with Employment Abroad purposes. Ang highest educational attainment ang iyong kukunin kung saang college,univeristy, or school ka nag-aral. Tell them na kailangan mo ng for CAV (Certification, Verification, Authentication). After that, you need to bring these documents to CHED for verification. (If you graduated from state university, no need to go to CHED.) Next, go to the nearest DFA site. For Region 3, you may go to DFA Robinsons Starmills sa Pampanga. You can do the walk-in. Make sure na andun ka sa likod around 8am kasi may bilang lang ang kini-cater nila. After you apostilled your TOR and diploma, all you need to do is to go to TECO for authentication. What is TECO? Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines. You can do that personally or by an agent/representative.

2. PRC license authentication. Make sure that your license validity is more than one year because if you will get hired, your PRC license should be valid within the duration of your contract. First step, you should make an online appointment thru PRC website and select authentication. (the same process on how we renew our license). After you get the license authentication, go to the nearest DFA site for apostilled (dating red ribbon). Lastly, go to TECO and ask for authentication.

3. NBI clearance. This will test your patience. (I did mine 3 times.) Our NBI is valid for 1 year in the Philippines but only 6 months in Taiwan. Once you have your NBI, bring it to DFA and TECO after.

***Kapag TECO authenticated na ang 3 basic docs na yan, you may send your application to different programs like TFETP, Teach Taiwan, PGA, PIDI. You may also apply directly to schools. You may visit the website tealit.com for job vacancies.

***Again, those are basic documents only. Prepare for your introduction video, teaching demo, statement of purpose, etc. (depende kung ano ang hihingiin sayo)

Hindi madali ang process pero possible. Hindi lang kapwa Pinoy ang applicants dito dahil ito ay open internationally sa mga bansang English ang main language, at isa dun ang Pinas.
