Ta Hwa International School is dedicated to providing a holistic education that emphasizes global citizenship, niche in Taiwan, and a global perspective. Our American-style English instruction incorporates CCSS, NGSS, and C3 standards, as well as California A-G courses and a variety of AP courses, to provide students with a high-quality international learning experience. Also, we provide dormitory and school bus, parents can feel relieved to send children to our school!
Our program for grades 7-8 focuses on mentoring and helping students discover their personal interests and paths. Starting from grade 9, Ta Hwa International School uses a credit-based tuition system to customize students' academic plans. This allows parents to pay only for the courses their child takes, avoiding wasted tuition fees. Additionally, this system allows for a more detailed analysis of individual needs, resulting in appropriate course arrangements.
You may be wondering what the credit-based tuition system is, how AP courses benefit children, whether all students need AP courses, what the course arrangement is for the California curriculum, which countries children can apply to after graduation, and whether children have opportunities to showcase their talents.

To let the students experience the change of seasons firsthand, our teachers moved the classroom straight into nature, taking THIS students on an energetic Tung blossom hike.

Stepping outdoors, PE class becomes so much more than just breaking a sweat. Along the trail, everyone searched for the most beautiful fallen petals and even teamed up to create a one-of-a-kind "THIS" out of flowers! We completed today's physical challenge amidst endless laughter and joy.

Learning should never be confined to four walls. Exploring nature on foot not only builds physical strength but also broadens their horizons.

At this year’s THIS International Day, our students organized a volunteer service at a local nursing home. Through this meaningful experience, they began to reflect on how, beyond textbook knowledge, they could bring companionship and warmth to the elderly. 🥰

Each student approached the day with sincerity, sitting beside the residents and engaging in heartfelt conversations that bridged generations. It wasn’t just about talking; they learned to respond with attentive eye contact, patient nods, and genuine presence. During exercise time, they stood side by side with the elderly, moving together and expressing care through every small action.

This was more than just a volunteer activity, it was a journey of learning empathy and developing a sense of social responsibility. On International Day, a celebration of global connection, our students took part in their own way, using conversation and companionship to bridge generational gaps.

Turning care into action, not just words. 🙌

Watching the students grow from initial shyness to confidently chatting and sharing with the residents, gently reminding one another to slow down, speak clearly, and listen patiently, was truly heartwarming.

This transformation, from understanding “loneliness” to willingly giving their time to practice “companionship”, is the most valuable lesson of all.

這不只是一次志工服務，更是一段學習同理他人、培養社會責任感的成長旅程。

In the Earth Science lesson students were explained about the Earth Hour. They were encouraged to participate in their own way for the betterment of our Planet. Students came out with wonderful Drawings depicting their thoughts on this topic. They also explained about their drawing and what they can do to help protect our planet.

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The event is held annually, encouraging the individuals, communities, and businesses to give an hour for Earth, and additionally marked by landmarks and businesses switching off non-essential electric lights, for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30p.m., usually on the last Saturday of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet.

前陣子的地球科學課中，老師帶著孩子們認識了「地球一小時」這項運動，也開始思考自己能為地球做些什麼💡

✨ 三月最後一天，一起回顧本月亮點事件：2026WSC世界學者盃 - 新竹初賽
屬於 THIS 寶寶們的亮點時刻 ✨

THIS 的三位學者代表：Alicia、Mila、Winston，也在賽程第二天勇敢站上 Scholar’s Show，用自信、魅力閃耀全場！
從準備到站上舞台的每一刻，都是一次次突破自我、挑戰極限的成長旅程。
無論是台上的表現、台下的合作，他們用行動詮釋了「勇敢嘗試、盡情發光」🌟
今年的比賽，寶寶們不僅收穫了亮眼的表現，更累積了寶貴的經驗、自信與跨文化交流的能力。🌍

It feels like we just celebrated Lunar New Year, and now March is already coming to an end ⏳

「鐵甲武士的一生：獨角仙」 🪲 感謝校本部雅棠組長的安排，讓THIS寶寶們透過傅文傑教授生動的解說與活動，認識了獨角仙從幼蟲到成蟲的完整生命歷程，也更加理解自然界中每一個生命的奧妙與價值。 學校擁有得天獨厚的自然環境，豐富的植被、適合昆蟲棲息的生態條件，特別有利於獨角仙的生長與繁衍。這樣真實且貼近自然的環境，讓學生能夠「看得到、摸得到、觀察得到」，將課本知識轉化為真實體驗。 透過這樣的學習歷程，學生不只是吸收知識，更培養了觀察力與對自然的關懷，讓課本中的內容變得立體而有感。 在學習中探索，在理解中成長，讓寶寶們用心感受生命的力量！

“The Life of an Armored Warrior: The Rhinoceros Beetle” 🪲
A special thanks to Yatang from the main campus for organizing this wonderful learning experience. Through Professor Fu Wen-Jie’s engaging explanations and hands-on activities, our THIS students were able to explore the complete life cycle of the rhinoceros beetle, from larva to adult, and gain a deeper appreciation for the wonder and value of every living thing in nature.
Our school is blessed with a uniquely rich natural environment. With abundant vegetation and ideal ecological conditions for insects, it provides the perfect habitat for rhinoceros beetles to grow and thrive. This close-to-nature setting allows students to truly see, touch, and observe, transforming textbook knowledge into real-life experiences.
Through this meaningful learning journey, students not only absorb knowledge but also develop keen observation skills and a genuine care for the natural world—bringing what they learn to life in a tangible way.
Learning through exploration, growing through understanding, our students are experiencing the power of life with curiosity and heart! 🌱

🩰 Glory on the Ballet Stage: Asian Grand Prix (AGP)
Beyond academics and linguistics, our students continue to excel in their personal passions! Congratulations to Cindy for her remarkable achievement during the winter break. Competing in the 2026 Asian Grand Prix (AGP), she stood out among a field of elite dancers to secure 2nd Place!

元宵節過後，象徵大地回春，正式進入全面運作狀態～就來分享本學期開學第一天，我們不把孩子關在教室裡，而是直接帶進大自然的收心行程吧！🥳
這次THIS特別安排寶寶們前往九斗村農場，用一場充滿儀式感的體驗，為新學期揭開序幕。最好的學習從來不只是課本，而是這份與土地、與同儕深度連結的真實感～

本學期開學日，我們直接把教學場域拉到「九斗村農場」。這場規劃，不只是玩樂，而是完整包含三項核心素養的「移動教室」：
1. 策略協作與肢體開發
從堆焢窯、生火到食材處理，孩子必須在非結構化的環境中進行「策略磨合」。這不只是勞動，更是體能與溝通韌性的實戰。在草地競賽中，他們也在玩樂、競賽中學會如何在高壓下調度資源、與同儕達成共識！
2. 食農教育的生存實踐
古早味焢土窯，讓孩子理解「從無到有」的過程。親手蓋窯、生火、等待，這種對勞動過程的敬畏，遠比課本上的知識更有力道。中午親手洗出的愛玉、烹調的烤肉，是辛勞換來的獲得感。
3. 建立深層的情感連結
教育不應只有知識灌輸，更要有與土地、與同儕深度連結的「真實感」。這種連結，是孩子未來面對學業挑戰時最堅實的心理素養。

回校後，感覺從孩子眼中看到的不是疲憊，而是蓄勢待發的能量。

Why "THIS" Starts the Semester in the Wild
As the Lantern Festival marks the return of spring, THIS is now officially in full gear.
We believe the best way to "settle in" isn't by restricting movement, but by re-igniting a student’s drive through high-intensity, real-world engagement.
Our opening ceremony at Jiudou Village Farm wasn't just a trip; it was a strategically designed "Mobile Classroom" targeting three core competencies:

1. Strategic Collaboration & Physical Resilience
From building Earth Ovens to managing fire and raw ingredients, students navigated "strategic friction" in a non-structured environment. This is more than labor—it is a practical masterclass in physical coordination and communication under pressure. On the field, they didn't just play; they learned to allocate resources and reach consensus.

2. The Grit of Agri-Food Education
Through the traditional Earth Oven process, students experience the reality of "creating from scratch." The patience required to build, ignite, and wait instills a respect for labor that no textbook can replicate. The Aiyu and BBQ they prepared themselves weren't just meals—they were the "earned rewards" of their own persistence.

3. Forging Authentic Connections
Education must transcend rote memorization. It requires a "sense of reality" born from deep connections with the land and peers. This bond creates the psychological foundation, the inner strength, that students need to face future academic challenges with confidence.

Returning to campus, I didn't see exhaustion in our students’ eyes; I saw redirected energy.
At THIS, we don't just transmit knowledge; we build the "bottom-line strength" children need to navigate an unpredictable future.
