Senior Class Project｜Today, Our Parents Became “Board Game Masters”!

這幾天，教室裡來了好多位「棋類大師」。
Over the past few days, many “Board Game Masters” have visited our classrooms.

有人帶來家裡常玩的棋，
Some brought games they often play at home,

有人示範不同的玩法，
some introduced different ways to play,

也有人坐下來，陪孩子真正下一盤棋。
and some sat down to enjoy a real game with the children.

只是仔細一看——
But when we took a closer look—

這些大師，怎麼都有點眼熟？🤭
why did these masters look so familiar?

原來，是我們最熟悉的爸爸媽媽 ❤️
They were our very own moms and dads!

在大班「棋」方案剛開始的這段時間，
As we begin our board game project with the senior class,

我們沒有急著教孩子記住多少規則、學會多少棋類，
we’re not rushing children to memorize rules or master different games.

而是邀請爸爸媽媽走進教室，
Instead, we invited parents into the classroom

用自己熟悉的方式，陪孩子玩棋、看棋、問棋，也試著下一步棋。
to explore, observe, ask questions, and make their own moves together with the children.

「這顆棋為什麼要走這裡？」
“Why does this piece move here?”

「如果換一個位置會怎麼樣？」
“What would happen if I moved it somewhere else?”

「原來這個棋，我在家也玩過！」
“Oh! I’ve played this game at home before!”

一盤棋的時間裡，
During each game,

孩子觀察大人的方法，也開始有自己的想法🤔
children observe how adults play while beginning to develop ideas of their own.

有時跟著學，
Sometimes they follow along,

有時提出問題，
sometimes they ask questions,

有時甚至想試試看：「如果我不這樣走呢？」🌱
and sometimes they wonder, “What if I try a different move?”

我們喜歡這樣的方案開場。
This is how we love to begin a new project.

先有一起玩的經驗，再從經驗裡長出問題；
First, we create shared experiences through play, and let questions grow from those experiences.

先讓孩子對棋產生好奇，再慢慢走進棋的世界。
We let curiosity come first, then gradually guide children deeper into the world of board games.

當家長也成為學習的一份子，

Back at School, Our Library Exploration Continues

在圖書館裡，
At the library,

孩子放輕腳步、壓低聲音，
the children walked softly and lowered their voices,

但一雙雙眼睛，可忙得不得 👀
but their curious little eyes were busier than ever.

一回到教室，話匣子立刻打開——
As soon as they returned to the classroom, everyone had something to share—

「我看到一本超級大的書！」
“I saw a really huge book!”

「我找到一本封面很奇怪的書，好想知道裡面在說什麼。」
“I found a book with such an unusual cover. I really wanted to know what was inside.”

有人記住了一本特別喜歡的書，
Some children remembered a book they especially loved,

有人發現原來「書」有好多不同的樣子，
some discovered that books can come in so many different forms,

也有人注意到，同一個圖書館裡，
and others noticed that in the same library,

每個人都在找自己想知道的事情✨
everyone was searching for something they wanted to know more about.

我們很喜歡這樣的分享。
We love hearing children share like this.

因為孩子正在做的，
Because what they are doing

不只是回想「今天去了哪裡」，
goes beyond remembering “where we went today.”

而是把自己真正看見、感到好奇的事，
They are recalling what they truly noticed and wondered about,

重新整理，再用自己的語言說出來。
organizing those experiences, and expressing them in their own words.

更有趣的是，
And what makes it even more interesting is that

當大家的發現一個個被說出來，
as everyone begins sharing their discoveries,

孩子才發現——
the children begin to realize—

原來我們去了同一個地方，
We all visited the same place,

每個人帶回來的故事卻都不一樣。
yet each of us came back with a different story.

「我看見了什麼？」🔍
“What did I notice?”

「原來還有我沒發現的地方！」
“Oh! There were things I didn’t notice!”

在說與聽之間，
Through sharing and listening,

孩子整理自己的經驗，
children make sense of their own experiences,

也透過別人的眼睛，
and through someone else’s eyes,

重新看了一次自己走過的地方🌱
they get to see the same place in a whole new way.

這也是我們希望校外探索帶回教室的學習：
This is the kind of learning we hope children bring back from every field trip:

離開圖書館，不代表探索結束。
Leaving the library doesn’t mean the exploration is over.

那些看過的、好奇的、想再知道更多的，
What they noticed, wondered about, and wanted to explore further

會在一次次分享與討論裡，
can grow through every conversation and discussion,

慢慢成為下一個問題、下一次探索的開始🤍
becoming the beginning of the next question and the next discovery.

📚🌱 孩子到圖書館，只能看書嗎？
Is reading the only thing children can do at the library?

這一次，中班孩子帶著自己製作的書卡，一起走進板橋市立圖書館。
This time, our middle class children brought their handmade library cards and visited Banqiao Public Library together.

一進到圖書館，孩子便穿梭在一排排書架之間，自己找、自己選，也自己發現感興趣的內容。
As soon as they entered the library, the children explored the shelves, choosing books on their own and discovering what interested them.

「老師！這本學校也有耶！」
“Teacher! We have this book at school too!”

「你看，這本書好有趣喔！」
“Look! This book is so interesting!”

一句句自然的分享，其實藏著孩子正在發生的學習。
Behind these spontaneous comments, meaningful learning is already taking place.

他們觀察書架上的分類，比較自己看過與沒看過的書，找到有興趣的內容，也迫不及待和同伴分享自己的發現✨
They observe how books are organized, compare familiar and unfamiliar books, follow their own interests, and eagerly share their discoveries with friends.

帶孩子走進圖書館，我們期待的不只是「多看幾本書」，
By bringing children to the library, we hope for more than simply having them “read more books.”

更希望他們慢慢發現：
We hope they gradually discover:

原來，當我對一件事情產生好奇，
When I become curious about something,

我可以自己去找、去翻、去發現答案。
I can search, explore, and discover the answers for myself.

從「老師告訴我」，慢慢走向「我想自己找找看」。
From “Teacher, tell me” to “Let me find out for myself.”

一次圖書館的探索，也正在一點一點累積孩子主動學習的能力🌱
A simple trip to the library is helping children build the confidence and ability to take charge of their own learning.

🤍 孩子不是不聽，是還在學
Children Aren’t Ignoring Us—They’re Still Learning

「坐好、慢慢走、不要跑、先等等……」
“Sit nicely, walk slowly, don’t run, wait a moment…”

相信這些話，很多爸爸媽媽每天都會說上好多次。
These are probably words many parents find themselves saying again and again every day.

尤其是年紀越小的孩子，即使昨天才提醒過，今天可能還是需要再說一次。
The younger the child, the more reminders they may need—even if you just talked about it yesterday.

因為對小小孩來說，很多我們以為「說過就應該會」的事情，其實都還在學習的路上🌱
For young children, many things we assume they “should know after being told” are actually skills they are still learning.

他們正在練習控制自己的身體，學習等待、專注，也慢慢理解團體生活的規則。
They are learning to control their bodies, wait, focus, and gradually understand how to be part of a group.

所以在教室裡，老師試著找到孩子聽得懂、也更願意跟著做的方式。
That’s why teachers try to find ways children can understand and naturally follow.

可能是一個熟悉的手勢、一段簡單的旋律，或是一個好玩的律動遊戲，
It might be a familiar gesture, a simple melody, or a playful movement activity,

讓孩子自然把注意力找回來、跟上節奏，也在一次次參與中，把能力慢慢練起來✨
helping children refocus, follow along, and gradually build these skills through repeated practice.

有時候，大人看到的是一場可愛的唱唱跳跳，
Sometimes, adults may simply see children happily singing and dancing,

但在老師眼裡，每一次停下來、跟上指令、等待一下再行動，
but to a teacher, every time a child pauses, follows a direction, or waits before taking action,

都是孩子正在學習控制自己、適應團體生活的小小進步💪
is a small but meaningful step toward self-regulation and adjusting to group life.

孩子不是提醒一次就會了，
Children don’t learn something after just one reminder.

而是在一次次被理解、被引導的過程裡，慢慢把「還不會」，變成「我會了」🌈
Through patient understanding and guidance, they slowly turn “I can’t do it yet” into “I can do it.”

🥺 開學第二週，孩子怎麼還是哭著進學校？
It’s the second week of school—why is my child still crying at drop-off?

看著身邊的孩子，
Seeing the other children around them

好像一個個慢慢步上軌道，
gradually settle into their new routines,

爸爸媽媽難免開始擔心：
parents may naturally start to wonder:

「為什麼我的孩子還在哭？」
“Why is my child still crying?”

「是不是還沒適應？」
“Are they still having trouble adjusting?”

「他在學校真的好嗎？」
“Are they really doing okay at school?”

但老師常常會告訴爸爸媽媽：
But teachers often reassure parents:

「放心喔，他進教室後，很快就沒有哭了。」 🤍
“Don’t worry. Once they’re in the classroom, they usually stop crying pretty quickly.”

其實，入園時哭泣，
Crying at drop-off

不一定代表孩子一整天都不開心。
doesn’t necessarily mean a child is unhappy all day.

對有些孩子來說，
For some children,

每天早上的眼淚，
those morning tears

只是需要一點時間和爸爸媽媽好好說再見。
are simply part of taking a little extra time to say goodbye to Mom and Dad.

抱一抱、哭一下，
A hug, a few tears,

把捨不得表達出來。
and a chance to express how hard it is to say goodbye.

等老師接住情緒、慢慢陪伴，
With a teacher nearby to comfort and support them,

可能過了一會兒，
after a little while,

他又開始玩玩具、找朋友，
they may start playing, finding their friends,

好奇今天教室裡有什麼新鮮事了🌱
and wondering what new things there are to discover today.

所以，比起只看「今天有沒有哭」，
So rather than focusing only on “Did my child cry today?”

我們更在意的是——
we pay more attention to what happens afterward—

哭過之後，他能不能慢慢安定下來？
Can they gradually calm down after crying?

能不能重新走進遊戲、探索與班級生活？
Can they return to playing, exploring, and joining classroom life?

這些，其實都是孩子正在適應的訊號✨
These are all signs that a child is gradually adjusting.

每個孩子都有自己的步調，
Every child adjusts at their own pace.

不用急著和別人比較，
There’s no need to compare them with others,

也不用急著要求孩子「不要哭」。
or rush to tell them, “Don’t cry.”

一個擁抱、一次準時出現的接送，
A warm hug, being there on time for pick-up,

一句說到做到的「放學我會來接你」👍
and keeping the promise, “I’ll be here to pick you up after school,”

都在一次次告訴孩子：
all gently remind your child:

「爸爸媽媽會回來，我可以放心去玩。」 💛
“Mom and Dad will come back. I can feel safe and go play.” 💛

給孩子一點時間。
Give your child a little time.

有一天你會發現，
One day, you may suddenly notice

原本緊緊牽著不放的小手，
that the little hand that once held on so tightly

已經可以笑著揮揮手，
can now wave goodbye with a smile

自己走進教室了🌿
and walk into the classroom on their own.

Today, the children brought the “chessboard” to the table!

從認識棋子、觀察棋盤，
From exploring chess pieces and observing the chessboard,

到今天親手製作「棋盤吐司」，
to making their very own “chessboard toast,”

孩子把方案裡的發現，
the children turned what they discovered through the project

變成一份看得見、摸得到，最後還能吃掉的作品 😋
into something they could see, touch, and even eat!

「棋盤要怎麼排？」
“How should I arrange my chessboard?”

「黑白格子要怎麼出現？」🤔
“How can I create the black-and-white squares?”

小手忙著操作，
Little hands were busy creating,

小眼睛仔細觀察，
little eyes were carefully observing,

腦袋也沒停下來 🌱
and little minds were thinking all along.

看似是在做一片吐司，
It may look like they’re simply making a piece of toast,

其實孩子正在把觀察到的棋盤特徵，
but the children are taking the chessboard patterns they observed,

重新思考、排列，
rethinking and arranging them,

再用自己的方法把它做出來 ✨
and finding their own way to bring them to life.

當遊戲走進生活，
When play becomes part of everyday life,

孩子會發現，
children begin to discover

原來學過的東西，
that what they learn

可以有好多不同的玩法與可能。
can be explored in so many different ways.

而今天最讓人期待的最後一步——
And the most exciting final step today—

當然就是把自己的「棋盤」吃掉啦！ ♟️🍞💛
was, of course, eating their very own “chessboard”!

這就是孩子喜歡的學習方式：
This is the kind of learning children love:

玩中學、做中學，也把學習帶進生活裡。

「可是這樣好像不行……那要怎麼辦？」
“But this doesn’t seem to work… What should I do?”

暑期 STREAM 課程裡，
In our Summer STREAM program,

我們常常看見孩子一邊討論、一邊動手，
we often see children discussing ideas while working with their hands,

也一邊推翻自己原本的想法 ✨
and rethinking their original plans along the way.

這一次，
This time,

老師沒有準備好「正確的材料」，
the teacher didn’t prepare the “right materials” in advance,

而是把問題交給孩子：
but instead gave the question to the children:

「如果要完成這個挑戰，你覺得教室裡有哪些東西可以使用？」
“If you want to complete this challenge, what things in the classroom do you think you could use?”

於是孩子開始觀察、找材料、討論方法、動手實作。
So the children began observing, finding materials, discussing ideas, and putting them into action.

做了才發現不行？
What if an idea doesn’t work?

那就重新想，再換個方法 🌱
Think again, and try another way.

一個看似簡單的任務，
A seemingly simple challenge

其實正在累積孩子的觀察、思考、實作、合作與解決問題能力😊

孩子們一會兒左看看、右看看，
The children keep looking around,

一會兒又小聲地討論著，
then whispering softly to one another,

深怕自己的小祕密被爸爸提前發現 🤭
careful not to let Dad discover their little surprise too soon.

每一個專注投入的眼神、
Every focused expression,

每一雙忙碌創作的小手，
and every pair of busy little hands,

都藏著對爸爸滿滿的愛與感謝 ❤️
is filled with love and gratitude for Dad.

或許作品還不夠完美，
Their creations may not be perfect,

或許動作還有些笨拙，
