【Travel to Myanmar in One Second 🇲🇲 | A Cultural Day at JUST】

No need to travel abroad
experience the world right here at Jinwen University of Science and Technology 😍

President Leo Huang also shared at the event that,
in addition to warmly welcoming international students to the JUST family,
he deeply appreciates their courage and determination
to leave home and pursue their studies in Taiwan.

He also expressed his hope that
JUST can become their “second home” in Taiwan 🏡

Next, our amazing Myanmar students brought us
an incredible “Myanmar Cultural Day”!

Not just presentations—
you could see, hear, taste, and learn all at once!

There was also a rich cultural exhibition
featuring traditional costumes, handicrafts, and unique items—
turning the space into a “mini cultural museum” ✨

Let’s start with a simple Burmese phrase 👋
Do you know how to say “Hello” and “Thank you”?
(Ps… everyone picked it up super fast on site 🤣)

We also enjoyed cultural sharing sessions and presentations,
covering everything from the national flag and history
to everyday life in Myanmar—
helping us understand not only Myanmar, but each other ❤️

And now, the highlight!!!
The incredibly delicious 👉 “Mohinga” (Myanmar fish noodle soup)
—gone in seconds as soon as it was served!

Plus the famous “Lahpet” (tea leaf salad),
which opened up a whole new world of flavors 😳

【Safeguarding Hualien with Professional Expertise, Fulfilling University Social Responsibility through Action】

During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Jinwen University of Science and Technology(JUST) swiftly formed the “Spatula Superheroes Volunteer Cooking Team” and traveled to disaster-affected areas in Guangfu Township, Hualien. By contributing their professional culinary expertise, the team provided warm and timely support to frontline relief efforts through volunteer meal services.

Today, Premier CHO JUNG TAI(卓榮泰) and Minister of Education CHENG YING YAO(鄭英耀) met with and commended the university teams who participated in disaster relief. Representing Jinwen University of Science and Technology(JUST), President Leo Huang (黃榮鵬) attended the event together with student representative Li Guan-ru(李冠儒), receiving recognition for the university’s collective commitment and active contribution to society.

We sincerely thank the Office of Student Affairs, the College of Tourism and Hospitality – Department of Culinary Arts, and Professor Kao Shih-ta(高世達) for leading students from the Chinese Culinary and Fruit Carving Club. Through their dedication, professional skills were brought beyond the classroom, becoming a source of the most heartfelt support in the disaster-stricken communities.

Is it tears or sweat? This group of college students protected Hualien with their “spatulas”!

When Hualien was struck by a natural disaster, these young people did not back down. Faculty and students from the Department of Culinary Arts at Jinwen University of Science and Technology(JUST) formed the “Spatula Superheroes Volunteer Cooking Team.” During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, they gave up the chance to reunite with their families and bravely headed into the disaster area, using their professional skills to deliver hot, nourishing meals to those affected.

Today, Premier Cho Jung-tai(卓榮泰) and Minister of Education Cheng Ying-yao(鄭英耀) specially received and commended these heroic students. The Premier said emotionally, “Logistical support is the strongest backbone in disaster areas. Thank you for warming everyone’s hearts with your culinary skills.” ❤️

💬 Student representative Li Guan-ru(李冠儒) said, “In just two days, we sliced thousands of fish fillets, 250 kilograms of pumpkin, and more than 300 onions… We were so busy that we couldn’t tell whether what was running down our faces were tears or sweat. Being able to use our professional skills to help society is an experience we will never forget.”

Let’s give a big thumbs-up to these warm-hearted “Spatula Superheroes”! 👍 And thank you as well to all the unsung heroes working tirelessly on the front lines of disaster relief.

今天，行政院長卓榮泰與教育部長鄭英耀特別接見並表揚這群英雄學子。院長感性地說：「後勤支援是災區最強大的力量，感謝你們用廚藝溫暖了大家的心。」❤️
💬 學生代表李冠儒說： 「兩天內，我們切了上千片魚排、250斤南瓜、300多顆洋蔥……忙到分不清楚流下來的是淚水還是汗水，但能發揮專業幫助社會，這份經驗一輩子難忘！」

【2026 海外青年臺灣就學團 蒞校參訪】

2026 年海外青年臺灣就學團（南半球暨亞洲組）於 1 月 9 日 蒞臨本校參訪交流。本次參訪團員為來自 巴西、阿根廷、澳大利亞及巴拉圭的學生們，透過校園導覽的方式，使學生深入認識本校的辦學理念、國際學生資源與多元學習環境。

在僑生互動交流環節中，特別安排臺灣景點及美食猜謎活動作為破冰遊戲，學生踴躍搶答、反應熱烈，現場氣氛輕鬆活絡，學生們更展現高度參與度。隨後配合即將到來的臺灣新年，進行 「福氣掛飾 DIY」體驗活動，讓海外青年透過手作認識臺灣年節文化，留下深刻印象。

活動後段，學生分組參訪本校觀光餐旅學院，由旅館管理系帶顉學生參訪實習旅館之場域，旅遊管理系展示最新航空實務教室及餐飲管理系導覽本校最豐富的專業教室及設備環境；另一組則由資訊與通訊系導覽電競教室、實驗室及AR、VR實境教室，實地了解專業設備與課程特色，並與師長進行交流互動。

本校持續推動國際交流與境外招生，期盼藉由此次參訪，深化海外青年對來臺就學與校園生活的認識，並開啟未來更多合作與學習的可能。

【2026 Overseas Youth Taiwan Study Group Visits Jinwen University of Science and Technology】

On January 9, 2026, Jinwen University of Science and Technology (JUST) welcomed the 2026 Overseas Youth Taiwan Study Group (Southern Hemisphere and Asia Group) for a campus visit and exchange. The visiting group consisted of students from Brazil, Argentina, Australia, and Paraguay. Through a guided campus tour, students gained a deeper understanding of JUST’s educational philosophy, international student support services, and diverse learning environment.

During the interaction session with overseas Chinese students, a series of Taiwan landmark and local cuisine quiz games were arranged as ice-breaking activities. Students enthusiastically participated, responding actively and creating a lively and relaxed atmosphere with a high level of engagement. In celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year, students then took part in a “Lucky Ornament DIY” activity, allowing them to experience Taiwanese New Year traditions through hands-on cultural activities and leaving a lasting impression.

In the latter part of the visit, students were divided into groups to explore different academic units. One group visited the College of Tourism and Hospitality, where the Department of Hotel Management guided students through the internship hotel facilities, the Department of Tourism Management introduced the latest aviation practice classroom, and the Department of Food and Beverage Management showcased the university’s well-equipped professional training kitchens and facilities.
The other group was guided by the Department of Information and Communication, visiting the e-sports classroom, laboratories, and AR/VR immersive learning facilities, gaining firsthand insights into the department’s professional equipment, curriculum features, and engaging in interactive discussions with faculty members.

Jinwen University of Science and Technology continues to actively promote international exchange and overseas student recruitment. Through this visit, the university aims to deepen overseas youth’s understanding of studying in Taiwan and campus life, while fostering future opportunities for collaboration and academic exchange.
