試著用中英對照的方式講講去年介紹的超美國在地化的土撥鼠節：

2月2號是北美的土撥鼠節Groundhog Day，據說在這天如果土撥鼠從冬眠中起來後看到牠自己的影子就會再回去睡，冬天也還有6個星期才會結束；如果土撥鼠沒看見影子，就代表春天即將來臨。
February 2nd is North America’s Groundhog Day. It is said that if a groundhog pops out of its burrow from hibernation and sees its shadow, the cute ball will go back to sleep, indicating that the end of winter will still be six weeks away. If the groundhog does not see its shadow, then spring is not far.

好的那麼，大家知道我們平常講的土撥鼠，其實有包含兩類不同的鼠嗎？會冬眠的旱獺marmot，還有不冬眠的犬鼠cynomys，雖然兩類都很圓很球很桶，不過在外型上還是很不同喔。
Ok, so does anybody know that the groundhogs we usually talk about have two different species? The hibernating Marmot and the non-hibernating Cynomys. The two are both plump, chubby and barrelly, but they still differ in appearance.

但不管是哪類台灣都沒有，前陣子有出現「台灣土撥鼠」的相關新聞，根本就是欠估狗，新聞中出現的是台灣鼴鼠，即便同樣都會挖土，但鼴鼠並不是嚙齒目，所以鼴鼠名字中雖有鼠字，但並不是一種鼠呢。
Sad thing is Taiwan does not have either of them, there was news about groundhogs running wild in Taiwan, which made me really wanna shove Wikipedia in their faces. The “groundhog” in the news is actually a Formosan Blind Mole, both know how to dig but the latter isn’t a Rodentia, so folks, not all those that dig are “hogs”.

一開始想說會搞混土撥鼠的應該只有中文使用者吧，後來發現其實估狗groundhog，還是會噴出一堆犬鼠圖，很多土撥鼠節的配圖也都用犬鼠，看來會搞混這些挖土老鼠的不是只有我們呢XD

第一次排英文版面覺得茫，其實也很認真的在想有沒有機會把本土的動物用英文來介紹，但想到我那亂七八糟的中文語法和各種莫名奇妙的球狀形容詞就覺得...是給翻譯添麻煩XD
