Female Peacock Mantis Shrimp lay 50,000 eggs in one clutch. For 11 weeks, they'll keep them clean, oxygenated, and protected from predators. During this time, they live in burrows and rarely eat. In warm climates, they can reproduce multiple times a year. Mothers can be very aggressive during this time, defending their burrow and eggs fiercely.

BLUE-SPOTTED RIBBONTAIL RAY
At night, small groups will follow the rising tide onto sandy flats to root for small benthic invertebrates and bony fishes in the sediment. When the tide recedes, the rays separate and withdraw to shelters on the reef.

Saw this beautiful Flamboyant Cuttlefish on both dives yesterday! Going back to Long D**g Bay today, so hopefully we'll see it again!
