New Year Special Activity
Dear friends, we are very excited to announce that on 2/10, we will be hosting a fun Japanese New Year activity at the child-friendly restaurant- Cozy. The entire activity will be conducted in easy English for children. Please check out the the details on the page of the restaurant and apply through the restaurant if you are interested to let your children join us.

《新年親子活動-異國文化體驗》

🏮對象年齡:2-12歲
🏮參加費:每個寶貝$450,需一位大人陪伴

很高興我們有一位喜愛小朋友的日本老師久保山老師,以簡易的英語伴隨著另外一位中文老師的適當翻譯,來介紹小朋友們體驗與本地不太一樣的日本傳統新年遊戲。
活動中將模擬日本傳統搗麻糬的新年活動:
🍡玩日式毽子
🍡轉陀螺
🍡福笑臉遊戲
🍡不倒翁槌子

帶孩子製作簡易的風箏、還有一份福笑臉DIY組及一份麵粉黏土可以帶回家。
內容十分豐富,體驗🇯🇵鄰國文化,千萬不要錯過喔!

大家好! 上次我們 給孩子們念了一本關於夏天的書, 是關於在夏天可以做什麼, 會看到什麼. 夏天是個可以盡情到大自然中享受戶外活動與觀察豐富的自然生物的好時節. 我們跟孩子們練習一句對話: "What do you see?" 孩子們則回答: " I see a ____." 這樣子我們準備了很多小動物玩具及其他關於夏天的物件讓孩子們練習這句對話. 小朋友們都很直覺地回答問題. 以前聽過的英文字也一一地透過這樣的自然方式練習. 最後我們跟孩子們一起做紙冰淇淋, 每一個孩子都主動做不只一樣的口味. 看來冰淇淋是他們在夏天最想看到的東西吧? ^_^!

上次的故事時間我們跟小朋友談了有關如何對他人及對小動物用擁抱來表達關愛. 我們讀了一本關於如何擁抱各種常見的動物跟不常見的動物如: 豪豬. 我們跟孩子們一起唱表達關愛的歌曲並一起用黏土做豪豬. 快樂地渡過一個知性的英語親子時光!

At the last story time, we discussed with children about how to express our care and love to others and to animals. We read a book about how to hug commonly seen animals and uncommonly ones, such as a Porcupine. We sang a song about expressing our love and care, and we also made clay porcupines together. We had a wonderful English learning and parenting time with children.

感謝以下這位家長的分享. 她在孩子身上看到的, 的確是我們想給帶每個孩子的. 我們真的很高興這位家長看到了我們一直深信所能看到的. 語言除了系統學習以外, 還需要能感到用得上, 才能持續. 然而 "用得上" 卻不是建立在要求與競賽. 而是一種享受聆聽與享受表達的過程. 願大家 (小朋友與家長) 都能得到這份學習的享受. 因為這本是造物主的祝福. 以下是這位媽媽的分享原文:

"今天好玩的English story time,主題是farm animals
Artwork超好玩,是做fluffy的羊及豬,兩個小人說今天玩得超開心.
今天的新老師長得像哈利波特,很會帶動氣氛,故事說得很精彩也很會跟小朋友互動,很喜歡他.
今天涵涵很勇於回答問題,參加這一年多,她愈來愈有自信講英文了,對她而言,English story time是很好"用"英文的環境
小Sophie則不同,她完全沒基礎,一起來上時也才2歲多,因為捨不得放她在家,就硬著頭皮帶著她一起上,從一開始狂哭,到現在很勇敢説出自己的名字,會唱英文歌,farm animals也認識大半,雖然小Sophie沒正式上過英文課,耳濡目染下,不知不覺就聽得懂,也喜歡英文,這也算是意外的收穫.
台灣父母會覺得把小孩送到有系統的英文環境就安心了,但如果能叧外提供一個快樂可自在講英文的環境,他就會覺得英文是用得上的,而且可以訓練開口説,絶對是有加分的效果."

這次的故事時間是由我們新的固定老師 Tristan 老師帶領活動. 老師帶領小朋友透過閱讀與歌唱一起認識農場的動物與叫聲. Tristan 老師很會模仿動物的叫聲, 而且我們發現原來老師有一副好嗓喉. 然後我們帶孩子們做羊與豬的毛絨動物美勞.
This story time was lead by Teacher Tristan, our new regular story time teacher. With him, we learned and reviewed names of farm animals and sounds that they make while singing and reading. He was so good at imitating sounds of animals, and guess what, he is such a good singer! We had a craft activity and the children made cute fluffy sheep and pigs.

透過實際的經歷跟參與, 我們利用"One, Two, Buckle My Shoe"這本書讓孩子練習數數. 我們讓孩子們嘗試做紙鞋子可以練習扣鞋帶. 依照書本的內容我們也讓孩子體會一下開派對的過程與喜樂氣氛. 透過這個模擬過程我們也一起認識一些相關的字彙.
Through hands-on activities, we learned and practiced counting after reading a book, "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe." We made cute paper shoes, that you can really buckle up! We also had a pretend tea party, just like a scene from the book, and this fun dramatic play helped introduce new vocabulary.

上週日我們跟孩子讀了一本如何享受下雨之樂. 我們也學了關於雨的歌謠, 跟做了些好玩的遊戲. 手做美勞的部分孩子們做了雨棒裡面有小綠豆跟必要的機關, 能夠發出下雨的聲音. 整個活動充滿了歡馨與活力!
Last Sunday, we read a book about rain and talked about how to enjoy rain. We sang songs, played a fun game and made a rain stick that creates sounds of rain. With lots of energy, we had a great time!
