Art has always played an important role in the life of Taipei and New Taipei. The sculptures of Taiwanese author and illustrator Jimmy Liao in the stations and on some of the lines of the Danhai Light Rail Transit System are proof of this. All passengers travelling to scenic Tamsui can enjoy the Taiwanese artist's sculptures evoking a magical world. On 13 December, the NCCU hosted the Taiwan-Czech International Forum on Talent Cultivation and Collaboration in the Humanities, which aimed to strengthen scientific cooperation between the Czech Republic and Taiwan.

Located next to the NCCU, Maokong is one of the centers of Taipei's tea culture, producing famous teas. The Taipei Tea Promotion Center, which can be visited free of charge, plays an important role in the education of tea culture of Maokong.

During the Christmas season, the public areas of Taipei, home of the NCCU, are decorated with Christmas decorations. This is also the case with one of Taipei's most beautiful parks, Daan Park. Walking around the park, you can feel the special atmosphere of Christmas.

The NCCU pays particular attention to the psychological well-being of students. As part of this effort, Licensed Counseling Psychologist Pin-Chieh Lai gave a presentation on 4 December entitled Navigating Shame and Vulnerability. The lecture helped students to distinguish between the psychological concepts of shame and guilt, and provided students with advice on how to effectively deal with shame.

Christmas is approaching in Taipei! Different parts of the NCCU are looking forward to Christmas with beautiful decorations. Although Christmas is not a public holiday in Taiwan, many institutions have Christmas trees.

NCCU animals: the ducks of Dah Hsian Seetoo
Some parts of the NCCU are closely linked to specific animals, and this series presents these animals. The mascots of the Dah Hsian Seetoo Library are the playful ducks that live in the pond behind the library. People walking around the pond often come across them.
