在台灣，有俗稱「鬼月」的習俗，鬼月指的就是「農曆七月」，是鬼魂出來的日子。
鬼魂又被稱為「好兄弟」，可能是孤魂野鬼，也可能是指被供奉的祖先靈魂。
這個月份，有許多禁忌要避免，傳統要遵守，而台灣各地也有各自的祭典和中元普渡。

然而，鬼月其實可能是個新的習俗？
過去，亞洲許多國家都有中元節，但就只有一天節日，而非整個月都要提防鬼魂，
那，為什麼台灣會有鬼月呢？這些鬼究竟又從何而來？

Ghost Month is almost here! 👻

Are you ready?
In Taiwan, the 7th month of the lunar calendar is widely known as "Ghost Month"—a time when spirits are said to visit the living world.
These spirits, affectionately called "Good Brothers," can be homeless, wandering ghosts, or ancestors being honored. During this month, there are numerous taboos to follow, traditions to uphold, and grand Zhongyuan Pudu (Universal Salvation) rituals held across Taiwan.

But did you know that "Ghost Month" might actually be a relatively modern custom?
Historically, many Asian cultures observed the Zhongyuan Festival for just a single day, rather than spending an entire month on high alert for spirits.
So, why does Taiwan celebrate a whole Ghost Month? Where did all these spirits come from?

📢 TOCFL September 2026 Test Registration Information

If you plan to take the TOCFL Computerized Adaptive Test (CAT) in September 2026, please note the following important dates:

🗓️ Registration Period
• August 3 (Mon) – August 18 (Tue), 2026

🗓️ Late Registration
• August 19 (Wed), 9:30 a.m. – August 21 (Fri), 3:00 p.m.
Please note: Late registration is not eligible for any registration fee discounts. An additional handling fee of NT$300 will be charged, and payment must be made by credit card.

💳 Payment Deadline
Please complete your payment within 3 days of registration (including the registration date). Late payments will require a new registration.
