基因體與系統生物學學位學程

【恭賀】臺大基因體與系統生物學程101級系友賴培倫博士 蟬聯兩屆榮獲2018泛太平洋幹細胞與癌症研討會國璽獎

由花蓮慈濟醫院院長林欣榮與美國國家發明家學會會長Paul R. Sanberg共同領導的科學委員會，第十一屆泛太平洋幹細胞與癌症研討會（Pan Pacific Symposium on Stem Cells and Cancer Research, PPSSC 2018），於三月23至25日於花蓮慈濟醫院舉行，議程主要包括：國際專家的主題研討會、重要研究成果的口頭發表及海報論文發表等。多年來，吸引來自美國、中國、英國、日本、義大利、新加坡、香港和台灣等地之幹細胞研究領域重量級大師與專家學者，共同分享幹細胞研究的發展突破，以及幹細胞臨床試驗的成果。2017年本學程畢業系友賴培倫博士以發明「利用小分子藥物高效率轉換人類皮膚細胞為間質幹細胞」拿下該屆大獎，2018年再次以「利用藥物轉換人類皮膚細胞為神經寡突系細胞」獲頒大會國璽獎，此嶄新之細胞轉換方式能於短時間三天內將人類纖維母細胞轉換成神經膠寡突譜系細胞，目前最迅速之方法約需45天，對細胞治療與神經再生領域具有高度應用潛力。為鼓勵45歲以下之年輕科學家在臨床與轉譯醫學傑出研究成果，國璽幹細胞提供獲獎人獎盃一座及獎金十萬元。

感謝香港中文大學的盧煜明老師(Dennis Lo)接受我們基因體與系統生物學學位學程的學生邀請，他是將傳統產前健檢由較具危險性的羊膜穿刺發展為非侵入性的DNA產前健檢技術的發明人，包含了地中海貧血、唐氏症等等的提前偵測。此次受邀前來給予了兩場關於Serum free DNA在產檢與癌症領域應用的專題演講，真是精采絕倫，完美結束我們GSB Inviting speaker 的活動。

Hi all,

We are PhD/Master students from Genome and Systems Biology Degree Program, National Taiwan University and Academia Sinica.

In this coming Wednesday(12/6) and Thursday(12/7), we are very happy to have an innovative scientist, Dr. Yuk-Ming Dennis Lo from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, to give us two talks during his three-day visit. Dr. Lo received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge and his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Oxford. Dr. Lo is well known for his discovery of cell-free fetal DNA in maternal plasma in 1997 and such milestone discovery already shed light on various applications, e.g. non-invasive prenatal testing or nasopharyngeal carcinoma diagnosis. He was elected as a member of National Academy of Sciences, USA, in 2013 and is now the Chairman of the Department of Chemical Pathology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Two talks entitled "Non-invasive Prenatal Testing: from Dream to Reality" and "Unlocking the hidden diagnostic potential of circulating DNA" will cover the discovery of circulating DNA, its clinical/commercial implication, and the potential of such liquid biopsies in cancer screening.
