[All of TODO Results Right Here!]
We would like to thank all participants for your co-operation and fun over the weekend.
We had not anticipated that this tournament will be so warmly embraced by the Asia Pacific debating community. You have all been brilliant - from your compliance with our policies and guidance on the new platform (I hope you all enjoyed Discord!), to your pro-activeness in coming up with fun and efficient ways to interact with each other on Discord, to your great sense of humour (my eyes still hurt from some of the chat on / channels...).
Our only hope is that you have had as much fun as we did.
All results are available here (thank you, O' tabmaster-supreme, Benjamin Goh):

[Our deepest thanks]
Last but not least, our thanks to the following individuals:
β€οΈ Judges - For your professionalism. Most judges have been exceptional in their duties towards teams. We thank *all* judges - subsidized and non-subsidized - for giving a significant amount of time over the weekend to further this debating activity that we all hold dear, and making 2020 TODO the great success that it is. With a few exceptions, the overwhelming majority of you have been communicative and diligent in the safeguarding our participants.
𧑠Adjudication Core - For your endless commitment towards judge quality, motion-setting excellence, and enforcing a transparent judge feedback system. Thanks for providing your experienced input to help the organizing committee.
π Debaters and Coaches - Of course, this would not have happened without you. Thank you for the fun. We are going to miss you - until the next!
π Tabmaster Benjamin Goh - For managing this unbelievably tight schedule and setting a template for the organizing committee to hold the next debate competition.
π Alums of the Taiwan Debate Union and broader debating community - For stepping in as judges (Leon, Fenny, Victor, Audrey, Darren, etc), organizers, swing debaters, or whatever is needed at any moment.
And finally:
π My kick-ass team: Chris for helping me bring Taiwan Debate Open back to life in a COVID-19 world, after we both decided we didn't need an in-person tournament to attract top notch teams; my pride and joy of the Team Taiwan family, Victor and Alan, for your selfless and rigorous work in putting our Discord environment together, despite your simultaneous school / judging responsibilities; Anise and K.C., for constantly challenging us with your insights and making sure Day 1 went from a 60-minutes delay to a 15-minutes delay (there is no wonder why you were conveners of Taipei NEAO 2019). And finally: to Tony Lin, my unbelievable partner-in-crime and the doyen of Taiwanese university debating, for never giving up.
πππππ
[Post-tournament logistics]
We will be posting certificates and arranging honorarium payments over the next 1-2 days. Please bear with us in the interim.
πππππ
Yours,
Wen-Yu Weng
