Morning exploration: painting flowers & sensory !

Last week, We explored the question : “How can we make a boat float ?” The children had so many ideas ! First, We tested different materials to see if they float or sink. After deciding the materials, they began to work together on building their boats! Then we tested the boats they built. Amazing effort and teamwork !

Happy Earth Day ! At Little Seeds we had a whole week filled with activities: saving sea animals, discuss about how to help our planet, and we also used recycled materials to create many different art. We want children to understand that it’s all our responsibilities to protect our planet Earth!

Process art this week : ice pop paint! Children explored with different color ice pops, and created amazing & unique art. Do you love it as much as we do?

During Choice Time at Little Seeds this week, we introduced a shadow art provocation in the Blocks Area.

As some children focused on building their usual structures, others became fascinated by the way shadows formed and eagerly began tracing them. Before long, they were experimenting—creating new structures just to see how their shadows would look on paper. Their excitement was contagious!

This exploration wasn’t just about art, it was a hands-on investigation of light and shadow. As children traced they refined their fine motor skills, strengthening the coordination needed for writing. They began to notice how shadows of objects change as they move them around, getting closer or father away from light sources - exploring cause and effect. The open-ended nature of the activity allowed for children to experiment and express their creativity.

What started as simple tracing quickly turned into a dynamic blend of science, art, and playful discovery!

Every morning, our teachers set up provocation and materials to spark children’s interest. This is when we painted after glueing yarn in patterns. We love seeing children being engaged in activities !
