Mother’s Day is a special time to celebrate the love, care, and sacrifices that mothers make every day. Little Seeds friends celebrated Mother’s Day to honor the important role mothers play in our lives and the endless support they provide. Friends made posters, lovely keychains with a heartfelt card, which holds lots of sweet messages inside for moms. We also explored different activities such as wrapping flowers, making sweet cupcake with loose parts and sensory explorations. We wish all the moms a very special Mother’s Day! 💗

Last week, We explored the question : “How can we make a boat float ?” The children had so many ideas ! First, We tested different materials to see if they float or sink. After deciding the materials, they began to work together on building their boats! Then we tested the boats they built. Amazing effort and teamwork !

During Choice Time at Little Seeds this week, we introduced a shadow art provocation in the Blocks Area.

As some children focused on building their usual structures, others became fascinated by the way shadows formed and eagerly began tracing them. Before long, they were experimenting—creating new structures just to see how their shadows would look on paper. Their excitement was contagious!

This exploration wasn’t just about art, it was a hands-on investigation of light and shadow. As children traced they refined their fine motor skills, strengthening the coordination needed for writing. They began to notice how shadows of objects change as they move them around, getting closer or father away from light sources - exploring cause and effect. The open-ended nature of the activity allowed for children to experiment and express their creativity.

What started as simple tracing quickly turned into a dynamic blend of science, art, and playful discovery!
