🟥 2026 林茲電子藝術節
今年，北藝大新媒系再次受邀來到奧地利林茲電子藝術節，帶來展覽「Computational Evolution計算演化 」
一起看看資訊如何在自身與環境之間發生變異調節，又改變感知、行動和藝術創作

技術在文明的過程中不斷發生演變：它時而處在我們與環境之間，作為感知與環境的中介；到如今能獨立連結環境，並自主運作。資訊成為認識環境的方式，其懸置於生命與機械的感知、行為與自動性之間；穿越不同系統，轉譯與變化，這使原本的疆界因而不再穩固──也影響我們與環境的互動，以及藝術。
在2026年林茲電子藝術節，展覽「計算演化」探問的即是這種演變：「演化」指向一種由計算系統影響下發生底層編碼的跨越與變異，它發生於系統與資訊世界彼此改變的過程，在人與非人中的不確定、變異、遞迴、重新與環境調節，也轉變我們的觀察方法、心智狀態與行動。
藝術受此演化影響，也得審視人文主義以來的認知：其中感知方法、形式生成、作者性、行動等的重新配置，亦表現出演變的動態。「計算演化」呈現的，即是從內在編碼到外在環境的演變，在變異和調節中，重新協商自身與世界。

🦋Computational Evolution 🦿
Technology has evolved throughout the course of civilization. At times, it has stood between us and the environment, mediating how we perceive and engage with our surroundings; today, it has become capable of connecting with the environment and operating autonomously. Information has become a means through which environments are perceived and understood, suspended between the perceptions, behaviors, and autonomies of living and machinic systems. As information traverses different systems, it is translated and transformed, destabilizing boundaries that once appeared fixed—and reshaping how we interact with our environment, as well as art itself.
Presented at Ars Electronica 2026, Computational Evolution examines this transformation. Here, “evolution” refers to the crossings and mutations of underlying codes shaped by computational systems. It unfolds through the mutual transformation of systems and the infosphere: through uncertainty, variation, recursion, and readjustment to the environment across human and non-human agencies. These processes, in turn, transform our modes of observation, states of mind, and capacities for action.
Art, too, is implicated in this evolution, calling for a reconsideration of the frameworks inherited from humanism. The reconfiguration of perception, formal generation, authorship, and agency also reveals the dynamics of evolution itself. Computational Evolution traces this transformation from internal codes toward external environments, renegotiating our relationship with ourselves and the world through variation and adjustment.
