TFISM是本所楊育睿老師與日本及荷蘭學者合作創建的國際學術論壇，貢獻當代現代性研究已滿六年。與博物館研究所共同合作，在日本學術振興會（JSPS）的支持下，本屆國際學術論壇「複合現代性」（Composite Modernity），將在線上與大家見面。
TFISM論壇以跨領域學術對話，推進「現代性」議題的新性。本屆將由全球各地人文領域的研究者，帶來三個子題的發表：「複合凝視」、「流動的自我」以及「凝鑄的視覺性」。本屆亦將邀請舊金山民藝國際博物館策展人Ariana Torres，與TFISM成員以圓桌的形式，展開日本民藝運動家柳宗悅的跨文化論述。經典講座更是由英國約克大學藝術史學系的系主任、同時也是育睿老師的博士論文指導老師Michael White坐鎮。
還有一個隱藏亮點：眾多出色的發表人當中，有一位是我們博物館所的碩士生喔！TFISM論壇極少機率會錄取碩士階段的來稿者，相當不容易。快點進來看看是誰吧？

Registration is now open for the TFISM Forum!
Founded six years ago by Professor Yu-Jui Yang together with scholars from Japan and the Netherlands, TFISM has become an international platform contributing to the study of modernity. In collaboration with the Graduate Institute of Museum Studies and supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), this year’s international forum, Composite Modernity, will be held online.
Dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, TFISM explores new dimensions of “modernity.” This year’s conference features papers from humanities scholars around the world under three sub-themes: Hybrid Gaze, The Self in Motion, and Crystallised Visuality.
We are also delighted to welcome Ariana Torres, Curator at the Mingei International Museum, San Francisco, who will join TFISM members in a roundtable discussion on the transcultural discourses of the Japanese Mingei movement’s founder, Yanagi Sōetsu. In addition, the keynote lecture will be delivered by Professor Michael White, Head of the Department of History of Art at the University of York.
And here’s a hidden highlight: among the outstanding presenters this year is a Master’s student from our very own Graduate Institute of Museum Studies! Since TFISM rarely accepts papers from Master-level researchers, this is truly remarkable—come and find out who it is!
